Koska aihetta on alettu tutkimaan vasta viimeisten vuosien aikana enemmiss\u00e4 m\u00e4\u00e4rin, niin aiheesta on saatavilla niukasti tutkimustietoa etenkin j\u00e4\u00e4kiekkovalmentamiseen liittyen. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkielman tarkoituksena oli perehty\u00e4 j\u00e4\u00e4kiekkovalmentajien vuorovaikutusosaamiseen U16-U20 ik\u00e4luokissa ja siihen, miten ne olivat yhteydess\u00e4 joukkueen koheesioon. Erityisesti valmentajien vuorovaikutusosaamisesta tarkasteltiin valmentajien palautteenantoa ja sen yhteytt\u00e4 koheesioon.\n\nTutkimusaineisto ker\u00e4ttiin 2023 tammi- ja helmikuussa. Tutkimus toteutettiin m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4llisen\u00e4 tutkimuksena, johon tietoa ker\u00e4ttiin s\u00e4hk\u00f6isen Webropol-ohjelmiston avulla. Tutkimukseen osallistui 13 joukkuetta, joista kyselyyn vastasivat vastuuvalmentajat (N=13) ja pelaajat (N=219). Ker\u00e4tyst\u00e4 aineistosta muodostettiin summamuuttujia ja aineistoa analysoitiin korrelaatioiden ja Kruskal-Wallis -testin avulla. Ty\u00f6n kannalta keskeisi\u00e4 k\u00e4sitteit\u00e4 ovat vuorovaikutustaidot, palautteenanto, koheesio ja taustateorioina hy\u00f6dynnettiin TARGET ja Gordonin mallia.\n\nValmentajien antama positiivinen palaute yksil\u00f6lle sek\u00e4 joukkueelle oli useammassa joukkueessa yhteydess\u00e4 positiivisesti joukkueen koheesioon. Erityisesti valmentajan antama positiivinen palaute yksil\u00f6lle ennusti parempaa joukkueen koheesiota. Vastaavasti negatiivinen palaute yksil\u00f6lle ja joukkueelle ennustivat heikompaa joukkueen koheesiota. Lis\u00e4ksi valmentajien avoin kommunikointi, pelaajien hyv\u00e4ksyminen ja arvostaminen olivat yhteydess\u00e4 joukkueen koheesioon merkitt\u00e4vimmin. Ik\u00e4luokkien v\u00e4lill\u00e4 oli pelaajien kokemusten mukaan eroja joukkueiden koheesiossa. U16 ik\u00e4luokassa oli heikompi joukkueiden koheesio kuin U18 ja U20 ik\u00e4luokissa. Ik\u00e4luokkien v\u00e4lill\u00e4 oli my\u00f6s eroja valmentajien palautteenannossa U16 ik\u00e4luokassa positiivista palautetta annettiin enemm\u00e4n kuin U18 ja U20 ik\u00e4luokissa.\n\nTy\u00f6n tuloksia voidaan hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 valmentajien ammattitaidon kehitt\u00e4misen tukena. Esimerkiksi valmennuskoulutuksiin voi soveltaa saatuja tietoja sek\u00e4 seurat voivat omassa toiminnassaan hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 saatuja tuloksia. However, there is a limited amount of research available on this topic, especially concerning ice hockey coaching, as it has only begun to receive increased attention in recent years. The purpose of this study was to examine the interaction skills of ice hockey coaches\u2019 and how they are related to team cohesion in age groups U16-U20. Specifically, the coaches\u2019 feedback skills and their connection to cohesion were examined.\n\nA quantitative study was conducted by using Webropol software to collect data between January and February 2023. Thirteen teams participated in the study, which included head coach-es (N=13) and players (N=219) who responded to the survey. The researchers utilized sum variables and employed correlations and Kruskal-Wallis test for data analysis. The key con-cepts explored in this study included cohesion, communication skills and feedback, and the Gordon model and TARGET model were used as background theories.\n\nThe findings indicated that positive feedback from coaches to players as individuals and to the whole team was positively associated with team cohesion in multiple teams. Especially, positive feedback given to individuals by coaches predicted good team cohesion. Conversely, negative feedback given to team and individuals predicted weaker team cohesion. Open communication from coaches and their appreciation and acceptance of players were most strongly related to team cohesion. According to players\u2019 experience, results showed differences in team cohesion and coaches\u2019 feedback between age groups. Teams in the U16 age group had weaker team cohesion than the teams in the U18 and U20 age groups. In addition, U16 age group coaches gave more positive feedback than coaches in the U18 and U20 teams.\n\nOverall, this study showed the importance of coaches positive and open communication in coaching promoting team cohesion in ice hockey. The results can be used to support the development of coaches\u2019 professional skills. For example, the information obtained could be applied to coaches\u2019 education and ice hockey teams could use the results to improve coaching.
