Erot huipulla ovat marginaalisia, joten fyysinen suorituskyky on oltava huippuunsa viritetty. T\u00e4ten voima- ja plyometrinen harjoittelu sek\u00e4 pienpelit ovat olleet keskeinen tutkimusaihe viime vuosina. \n\nTutkimuksen tavoitteena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, onko nousujohteisella voima- ja plyometrisella harjoittelulla vaikutusta U16 jalkapalloilijoiden voimantuottoon ja vertikaalihyppyihin sek\u00e4 6 vs. 6 pelin liikkumismuuttujiin. \n\nTutkittavat jaettiin kontrolli- ja interventioryhm\u00e4\u00e4n. Harjoitusinterventio kesti 6 viikkoa. Tutkimukseen rekrytoitiin 21 tavoitteellisesti harjoittelevaa U16 jalkapalloilijaa B-junioreiden korkeimmalta- ja toisiksi korkeimmalta sarjatasolta. Koehenkil\u00f6iden suorituskyky\u00e4 mitattiin staattisella- (SH) ja esikevennyshypyll\u00e4 (EKH), 1\u20133 toistomaksimin maastavedolla trap-tangolla ja 6 vs. 6 pelien liikkumismuuttujilla. Alku- ja loppumittaukset toteutettiin kahtena p\u00e4iv\u00e4n\u00e4. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa aineisto koostui EKH:sta, SH:sta, arvioidusta 1 RM maastavedosta ja 6 vs. 6 peleist\u00e4. Tilastollisessa analyysiss\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin 12 tutkittavaa. Tilastollisena menetelm\u00e4n\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin ANOVAN kaksisuuntaista toistettujen mittausten varianssianalyysi\u00e4 Bonferroni korjauksella.\n\nHarjoitusinterventio johti parantuneeseen voimantuottoon. Interventioryhm\u00e4n voimantuotto parani tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4sti ~ 11,3 % (p = .001). EKH:ssa ja SH:ssa ei ryhmien sis\u00e4ist\u00e4 tai v\u00e4list\u00e4 muutosta havaittu. Pienpelin kiihdytyksiss\u00e4, jarrutuksissa, ja kuljetussa kokonaismatkassa ei my\u00f6sk\u00e4\u00e4n havaittu ryhmien sis\u00e4ist\u00e4 muutosta. Keskinopeus laski interventioryhm\u00e4n sis\u00e4ll\u00e4 tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4sti (p=.025). The physical demands of the sport are consistently increasing as players move faster and for longer periods. The differences at the elite level are marginal, making it crucial for players to optimize their physical performance. Various aspects of performance need to be developed comprehensively and efficiently to achieve the maximum benefits from training. The main goal of supplementary training is to enhance on-field performance. Therefore, strength and plyometric training, as well as small-sided games, have been significant research topics in recent years. \n\nThis study was conducted in collaboration with another Master\u2019s thesis in the sports coaching and fitness testing methodology at the University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4. The aim of the study was to investigate the effects of progressive strength and plyometric training on U16 football players\u2019 force production, vertical jump performance, and movement variables in 6 vs. 6 games. \n\nThe participants were divided into control and intervention groups. The training intervention lasted for 6 weeks. A total of 21 U16 football players actively training in the Finnish highest and second-highest junior levels were recruited for the study. The participant\u2019s performance was measured through static- and countermovement jumps, 5- and 10-meter speed tests, agility tests, 1-3 repetition maximum trap-bar deadlift, 6 vs. 6 games movement variables. The pre-and post-test was conducted on two separate days. The data for this study consisted of countermovement jumps, static jumps, estimated 1 repetition maximum in the deadlift, and 6 vs. 6 games movement variables. The statistical analysis was conducted with 12 participants. The statistical method used was a two-way repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) with Bonferroni correction. \n\nThe training intervention resulted in improved force production. The intervention group showed a statistically significant improvement of approximately 11.3 % (p=.001) in force production. No significant changes were observed within or in between the groups for countermovement- and static jumps. There were no significant changes in acceleration, deceleration, and total distance covered in 6 vs. 6 games. However, the average speed within the intervention group decreased significantly (p=.025). There were no significant differences in anthropometric characteristics between the groups, but the baseline was better in force production for the intervention group (p=.019). Furthermore, the difference between the groups was even greater after the intervention (p=.003). No significant differences were found between the groups in countermovement jumps, static jumps, and 6 vs. 6 games movement variables. According to the study, progressive strength and plyometric training is beneficial and enhance U16 football players' force production, but it does not directly translate to 6 vs. 6 games accelerations, decelerations, and total distance covered. However, due to the small sample size, further research with a similar study design is needed. Coaches should understand that the tactical and technical aspects of football games make it challenging to compare movement variables during small-sided games.
