Tutkimme, millaisia ty\u00f6hyvinvoinniltaan erilaisia profiileja johtajilta voidaan tunnistaa ty\u00f6uupumuksen ja ty\u00f6n imun suhteen. Lis\u00e4ksi tutkimme, miten johtajien eri ty\u00f6hyvinvointiprofiilit ovat yhteydess\u00e4 heid\u00e4n alaistensa ty\u00f6hyvinvointiin (ty\u00f6uupumus, ty\u00f6n imu) ja kokemuksiin esihenkil\u00f6-alaissuhteesta. Aineisto koostui 235 johtajasta (professorit, tieteentekij\u00e4t, muut johtajat) sek\u00e4 heid\u00e4n 989 alaisestaan. Tulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 suurin osa johtajista voi hyvin. K-keskiarvojen klusterianalyysin avulla tunnistimme nelj\u00e4 ty\u00f6hyvinvointiprofiilia johtajilta: uupuneet (korkea ty\u00f6uupumus, korkea ty\u00f6n imu, 8 %), hyvinvoivat (matala ty\u00f6uupumus, korkea ty\u00f6n imu, 49 %), riskiss\u00e4 uupua (kohtalainen ty\u00f6uupumus, matala ty\u00f6n imu, 12 %) ja keskiverrot (matala ty\u00f6uupumus, kohtalainen ty\u00f6n imu, 32 %). Uupuneiden ryhm\u00e4 osoitti, ett\u00e4 ty\u00f6uupumus ja ty\u00f6n imu voivat ilmet\u00e4 korkeina samanaikaisesti. We examined the different profiles of workplace well-being that can be identified in leaders in terms of exhaustion and engagement. Moreover, we studied how the different occupational well-being profiles of leaders are connected to workplace well-being of their subordinates (work exhaustion, work engagement) and the leader-member relationship evaluated by the subordinates. Our sample consisted of 235 leaders (professors, scientists, other leaders) and their 989 subordinates. The results indicate that the majority of leaders do well at work. By using K-means cluster analysis, we identified four workplace well-being profiles of the leaders: exhausted (high rates of exhaustion, low rates of engagement, 8 %), healthy (low rates of exhaustion, high rates of engagement, 49 %), at risk of exhaustion (moderate rates of exhaustion, low rates of engagement, 12 %) and mediocre (low rates of exhaustion, moderate rate of engagement, 32 %). The exhausted group of leaders showed that workplace exhaustion and workplace engagement can both appear at high rates at the same time. The gender, the age or the occupation of the leaders were not related to the profile groups. There was not any association between the leaders\u2019 workplace well-being and the subordinates\u2019 well-being at work or the leaders\u2019 workplace well-being and the quality of the leader-member relationship. In conclusion, the experience of high work engagement does not necessarily exclude the experience of high work exhaustion and vice versa. A fifth of the leaders in our sample were experiencing workplace exhaustion or were at risk of exhaustion at work, therefore attention should be paid to the signs of exhaustion by managers' own superiors, in work supervision and in occupational healthcare. All in all, the research confirms the need for work environments that support well-being at work, including the academic field.
