T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin ammatillisen koulutuksen tieto- ja viestint\u00e4tekniikan perustutkinnon ensimm\u00e4isen vuoden opiskelijoiden itseohjautuvan oppimisen valmiuksia ja et\u00e4opiskelukokemuksia sek\u00e4 niiden yhteytt\u00e4 toisiinsa. Tutkimus toteutettiin k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en Fisherin kehitt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4 SDLR-kysely\u00e4 (Self-Directed Learning Readiness Scale), jolla selvitettiin opiskelijoiden itseohjautuvan oppimisen valmiuksien taso. SDLR-kyselyn yhteydess\u00e4 opiskelijoilta kysyttiin taustatietoja sek\u00e4 kokemuksia et\u00e4opiskelun haasteellisuudesta, oppimiskokemuksista ja halusta opiskella jatkossa et\u00e4n\u00e4. Tutkimusaineistoa ker\u00e4ttiin vuosina 2021 ja 2022. Tutkimuksessa analysointiin tilastollisesti et\u00e4opiskelukokemusta omaavien opiskelijoiden vastaukset, joita saatiin 57 opiskelijalta. Suurin osa opiskelijoista oli 16--18-vuotiaita nuoria miehi\u00e4. Opiskelijoiden SDLR-kyselyst\u00e4 saatuja pisteit\u00e4 verrattiin et\u00e4opiskelukokemuksiin ja selvitettiin, selitt\u00e4v\u00e4tk\u00f6 itseohjautuvan oppimisen valmiudet et\u00e4opiskelukokemuksia. Tutkimuksen tulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 opiskelijoiden itseohjautuvan oppimisen valmiuksien tasot olivat keskim\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4ist\u00e4 matalammat aiempiin tutkimuksiin verrattuna. Opiskelijat kokivat et\u00e4opiskelun helpompana kuin luokkahuoneopiskelun, mutta kokivat kuitenkin oppimisen tapahtuvan paremmin luokkahuoneopetuksessa kuin et\u00e4opetuksessa. Suurin osa opiskelijoista halusi jatkossakin opiskella et\u00e4n\u00e4. Itseohjautuvan oppimisen valmiudet eiv\u00e4t selitt\u00e4neet kokemuksia et\u00e4opiskelusta. The skills of self-directed learning are also needed in working life and especially in the IT sector, where continuous learning of new things is essential. The target group of this master's thesis were the first-year students of information and communication technology at the vocational school. Their self-directed learning readiness and distance learning experiences and their connection to each other were investigated in this master's thesis. The master's thesis was carried out using the self-directed learning readiness scale (SDLRS) developed by Fisher. It was used to find out the level of students' self-directed learning readiness. The students were also asked about background information and experiences of the challenges of distance learning, learning experiences and the desire to study at a distance in the future. The research material was collected in 2021 and 2022. The material for statistical analysis was the students' answers, which were received from 57 students. Most of the students were young men aged 16--18. Students' scores on the SDLRS were compared to distance learning experiences. This master's thesis showed that the students' self-directed learning ability levels were lower than average compared to previous research. Students found distance learning easier than classroom learning, while they felt they learned better in classroom teaching than in distance learning. Most of the students wanted to participate in distance education in the future. Self-directed learning readiness did not explain experiences from distance learning.
