Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on tuoda esiin erityisesti liikuntaneuvojaopiskelijoiden oma \u00e4\u00e4ni eli heid\u00e4n ajatuksiaan, kokemuksiaan ja mielipiteit\u00e4\u00e4n ammatillisen kasvun kokemuksestaan ty\u00f6ss\u00e4oppimisjaksojen aikana.\n\nTutkimus toteutettiin laadullisin tutkimusmenetelmin fenomenologis-hermeneuttisesta n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta. Tutkimukseen osallistui 17 liikunnanohjauksen perustutkinnon liikuntaneuvojaopiskelijaa. Osallistujista 13 kirjoitti vapaamuotoisen kirjoitelman ty\u00f6ss\u00e4oppimisjaksojen j\u00e4lkeen aiheesta \u201dTy\u00f6ss\u00e4oppimisen koetut merkitykset ammatilliseen kasvuun\u201d. T\u00e4m\u00e4n j\u00e4lkeen aineistoa t\u00e4ydennettiin nelj\u00e4ll\u00e4 tutkimushaastatteluilla samasta aiheesta. Aineiston analyysi toteutettiin aineistol\u00e4ht\u00f6ist\u00e4 sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysia k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en.\n\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tuloksena voidaan esitt\u00e4\u00e4, ett\u00e4 ty\u00f6ss\u00e4oppimisajan merkityksellisimm\u00e4t asiat liikuntaneuvojaopiskelijan ammatilliselle kasvulle ovat saatu ohjaus, tuki ja koettu yhteis\u00f6llisyys, moninaiset ammattiin ja itseen liittyv\u00e4t oppimisen kokemukset sek\u00e4 itseluottamuksen vahvistuminen ja vastuun kanto. \n\nTutkimuksen johtop\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6s on, ett\u00e4 t\u00e4h\u00e4n tutkimukseen osallistuneet liikuntaneuvojaopiskelijat kokivat ty\u00f6ss\u00e4oppimisen aikana saadun ohjauksen, tuen ja yhteis\u00f6llisyyden merkitt\u00e4vin\u00e4 tekij\u00f6in\u00e4 ammatilliseen kasvuunsa. My\u00f6s liikunta-alan osaamiseen ja ty\u00f6el\u00e4m\u00e4taitoihin liittyvill\u00e4 oppimiskokemuksilla koettiin olevan ammatilliseen kasvuun vahvistavaa merkityst\u00e4. Ty\u00f6ss\u00e4oppimiseen kohdistunut oma vahva motivaatio ja my\u00f6nteinen asenne virittiv\u00e4t ty\u00f6ss\u00e4oppimisen aikana osaltaan tulevaisuusajattelua sek\u00e4 urasuunnittelua, mik\u00e4 koettiin merkityksellisen\u00e4 ja edisti ammatillista kasvua. The study aims to explore the thoughts, experiences, and opinions of vocational sports coaching students regarding their professional growth during on-the-job training.\n\nThe research was conducted using a qualitative research method. The participants (N=17) were students of vocational education in sports instructing. Thirteen students wrote an essay titled \"The Perceived Significance of On-The-Job Training for Professional Development,\" which was used as the primary source of data. In addition, four students were interviewed to further supplement the data on the perceived significance of on-the-job training for profess-ional growth. The collected data amounted to 49 pages, and the research employed a theory-guided content analysis approach and a phenomenological-hermeneutical research approach, with the experiences of the participants being the central focus of the study.\n\nThe findings of the study indicate that the significance of on-the-job training for professional growth includes guidance, support, and a sense of community during the training, learning experiences, and an increase in self-confidence and responsibility. Feedback from supervisors and peers, support and feedback from clients, and a sense of community during on-the-job training were found to be significant factors. In terms of learning experiences, the stu-dents' professional growth was associated with goal orientation and motivation, expertise in the field of sports instructing, job skills, future-oriented thinking and career planning, and an increase in self-confidence and responsibility due to the acquisition of greater responsibility during the on-the-job training.\n\nIn conclusion, the study suggests that the significance of on-the-job training for professional growth lies in the guidance, support, and sense of community provided by the on-the-job training site, the learning experiences related to sports instructing expertise and job skills, personal motivation and attitude, and future-oriented thinking and career planning.
