Kiekonk\u00e4sittely\u00e4 harjoitellaan usein j\u00e4\u00e4n ulkopuolella erilaisilla peliv\u00e4lineill\u00e4. Differentiaalioppimisen periaatteet huomioiden t\u00e4m\u00e4n aikaansaama vaihtelu voi olla taidon oppimiselle eduksi. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa esitetty peliv\u00e4linemanipulaatio on yksi tapa soveltaa differentiaalioppimista kiekonk\u00e4sittelytaidon harjoittelussa. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on tarkastella, miten peliv\u00e4linemanipulaatiolla toteutettu differentiaalioppiminen vaikuttaa lapsij\u00e4\u00e4kiekkoilijoiden kiekonk\u00e4sittelytaidon kehittymiseen ja kehityksen s\u00e4ilymiseen. \n\nTutkimuksen aloitti 44 tutkittavaa, joista 28 suoritti tutkimuksen loppuun. Tutkittavat olivat 9\u201314-vuotiaita j\u00e4\u00e4kiekkoilijoita. Tutkimuksen loppuun asti suorittaneista 14 kuului peliv\u00e4linemanipulaatioryhm\u00e4\u00e4n, 8 muuttumattoman peliv\u00e4lineen ryhm\u00e4\u00e4n ja 6 kontrolliryhm\u00e4\u00e4n, joka jatkoi vain tavanomaista lajiharjoitteluaan. Kiekonk\u00e4sittelytaitoa mitattiin testiradalla, jonka suoritusaika toimi kiekonk\u00e4sittelytaidon mittarina. Peliv\u00e4linett\u00e4 radalla kuljettaen tehtyjen suoritusten lis\u00e4ksi rata suoritettiin my\u00f6s ilman peliv\u00e4linett\u00e4, jotta lis\u00e4ksi kuljettamisvaje saatiin laskettua. Alkutestin ja lopputestin v\u00e4liss\u00e4 peliv\u00e4linemanipulaatioryhm\u00e4 ja muuttumattoman peliv\u00e4lineen ryhm\u00e4 osallistuivat ryhmiens\u00e4 mukaisiin 8 viikon mittaisiin kiekonk\u00e4sittelytaidon harjoitusinterventioihin. Kolme viikkoa lopputestin j\u00e4lkeen pidetyss\u00e4 s\u00e4ilyvyystestiss\u00e4 tarkasteltiin interventiolla saavutetun kehityksen s\u00e4ilymist\u00e4. Ryhmien sis\u00e4ist\u00e4 kehityst\u00e4 tarkasteltiin Friedmanin testill\u00e4 ja ryhmien v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 eroavaisuuksia Kruskal-Wallis -testill\u00e4.\n\nPeliv\u00e4linemanipulaatioryhm\u00e4 oli ryhmist\u00e4 ainoa, joka saavutti harjoitusjakson aikana tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4\u00e4 (p < 0,05) ryhm\u00e4n sis\u00e4ist\u00e4 kehityst\u00e4 kuljettamisajoissa (\u20131,85 \u00b1 2,21 s alkutestist\u00e4 lopputestiin). Peliv\u00e4linemanipulaatioryhm\u00e4n kehitys s\u00e4ilyi s\u00e4ilyvyystestiin (\u20133,16 \u00b1 3,13 s alkutestist\u00e4 s\u00e4ilyvyystestiin, p < 0,05). Kruskal-Wallis -testill\u00e4 ei kuitenkaan l\u00f6ytynyt tilastollisesti merkitsevi\u00e4 eroja ryhmien v\u00e4liselle kehitykselle. Mik\u00e4\u00e4n ryhmist\u00e4 ei saavuttanut tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4\u00e4 kehityst\u00e4 kuljettamisvajeiden osalta.\n \nPienet ryhm\u00e4koot vaikuttivat osaltaan siihen, miksi merkitsevyyksi\u00e4 ryhmien v\u00e4lisille eroille ei l\u00f6ytynyt. Tutkimustulos antaa kuitenkin vahvistusta sille, ett\u00e4 differentiaalioppiminen on hyv\u00e4 keino kehitt\u00e4\u00e4 motorista taitoa. Stickhandling is often practiced off-ice with varying implements. Given the benefits of differential learning, this can be in fact beneficial for learning the skill. Implement manipulation is one example on how to add differential learning to stickhandling practices. The aim of this study is to examine how differential learning achieved by implement manipulation affects the development of youth ice hockey players\u2019 stickhandling skill.\n\nA total of 44 participants took part in the study, and 28 participants finished the study. The participants were youth ice hockey players from the age scale of 9 to 14. Of the 28 participants that finished the study, 14 was in an implement manipulation group, 8 was in a regular implement group, and 6 was in a control group that continued their normal ice hockey training throughout the study. The measurements were held on a stickhandling track, where performance time was assessed. The track was performed with and without the stickhandling task, so that the deficit caused by stickhandling could also be measured. Between pre-test and post-test, 8-week dribbling skill interventions were held for implement manipulation group and regular implement group. The retention of the skill development was assessed with a retention test that was held 3 weeks after post-test. Changes within the groups were tested with Friedman\u2019s test, and differences between the groups were tested with Kruskal-Wallis test.\n\nThe implement manipulation group enhanced their stickhandling speed within the group significantly (p<.05) from pre-test to post-test (\u20131,85\u00b12,21 s) and retained the development to retention test (\u20133,16\u00b13,13 s from pre to retention, p<.05) as the only group that had significant development. However, there were no statistically significant differences found between the groups when tested with Kruskal-Wallis test. None of the groups had significant changes in stickhandling deficits.\n\nSmall group sizes in part explain why no statistically significant differences were found between the groups. However, the results of this study strengthen the idea that differential learning is a good tool for motor learning.
