Tämän tutkielman kontekstissa koulutusteknologiaan eivät sisälly sisäkorvaistutteet ja kuulokojeet. Tutkielman tavoitteena on vastata seuraavaan tutkimuskysymykseen: millaisia vaikutuksia opetusteknologialla on kuulovammaisten oppimiseen? Tutkimus tehtiin kirjallisuuskatsauksena. Scopusta ja Google Scholaria vertaisarvioitujen artikkeleiden löytämiseen tutkittavasta aiheesta. Suurin osa havaituista vaikutuksista oli positiivisia. Monet tutkituista teknologeista lisäsivät käyttäjien motivaatiota oppia ja paransivat käyttäjien akateemisia suorituksia. Jokainen tutkituista teknologioista vastasi vähintään yhteen tutkimuksessa löydettyyn oppimisen haasteeseen. Jatkotutkimusta voitaisiin tehdä ohjelmoinnin vaikutuksesta oppimiseen. Jokaisesta teknologiasta voitaisiin tehdä myös hieman laajamittaisempi tutkimus, sillä käsitellyissä tutkimuksissa osallistujamäärät olivat suhteellisen pieniä. Children with hearing impairments are significantly behind their hearing peers academically. The gap between hearing and deaf children has not gotten any smaller in the last 30 years. The purpose of this thesis is to research the impact of the use of educational technologies in the learning and teaching of people with hearing impairments. In the context of this thesis, educational technology excludes cochlear implants and hearing aids. The aim of the thesis was to answer the following research question: what kind of effects can educational technology have when it is used in the education of hearing-impaired students? This research was done as a literacy review. Scopus and Google Scholar were used to find peer-reviewed articles about the topic. Most of the effects found were positive. Many of the researched technologies increased users’ motivation to learn and improved their academic performance. Each of the technologies studied met at least one of the learning challenges identified in the study. Further research could be carried out on the impact that programming has on learning. A slightly more extensive study could also be carried out on each technology, as the number of participants in the studies was relatively small.
