Työn tarkoituksena on selvittää lumilautailun lajiharjoittelun kuormittavuutta ja kuormitukseen seurantaan soveltuvia menetelmiä Kahdeksan 17–19-vuotiasta tutkittavaa osallistui harjoitusleirin yhteydessä mittauksiin, jossa seurattiin autonomisen hermoston tilaa leirin läpi ortostaattisella syketestillä, sekä yönaikaisella sykeseurannalla leposykkeen ja sykevaihtelun osalta. Suorituskyvyn muuttujat, maksimaalinen isometrinen jalkaprässi (MVC) ja kevennyshyppy (CMJ), mitattiin ennen harjoittelun alkamista ja leirin päätyttyä, sekä kahden seurantapäivän ajan leirin jälkeen. Lisäksi leirin ja seurantajakson aikana tehtiin tutkittavien koettua kuormitusta arvioiva RPE-kysely. Suorituskykyä mitattavissa MVC ja CMJ testeissä ei havaittu merkitseviä muutoksia missään mittauspisteissä. Ortostaattisissa sykemittauksissa leposykkeen sekä sykevaihtelun osalta havaittiin merkitseviä muutoksia Pre – Mid -mittapisteiden välillä (p<0.05). Leposyke nousi 16,5 %, sykevaihtelu laski -24 %. Lisäksi RPE-mittauksissa merkitsevä muutos havaittiin Pre – Mid -mittapisteiden välillä, jossa RPE kasvoi 36 % (p<0.05). Sykemuuttujien ja koetun kuormituksen välillä ei havaittu tilastollisesti merkitsevää korrelaatiota. Lumilautailun slopestylen lajiharjoittelun aiheuttamaa kuormitusta pystyttiin havaitsemaan autonomisen hermoston tilan seurannalla sekä koetun kuormituksen kyselyllä (RPE). Harjoittelu ei aiheuttanut merkitsevää muutosta suorituskyvyn muuttujiin. Tutkimuksen perusteella voidaan sanoa, että RPE-kysely ja sykemuuttujien seuranta voivat olla toimivia mittareita kuormittuneisuuden seurantaan myös slopestyle-lumilautailun harjoitusleireillä muun muassa niiden helppokäyttöisyyden ja kustannustehokkuuden takia. Harjoittelun kuormitus on tärkeä ottaa huomioon, etenkin uusia temppuja harjoitellessa loukkaantumisriskin minimoimiseksi. Slopestyle snowboarding is a competitive sport where athletes perform tricks on a course consisting of jumps and rails. Slopestyle snowboarding is an injury-prone technical sport, and little research has been done on the training load. This Master's thesis examines the training load of competitive snowboarders during a six-day training camp. The purpose of the work is to measure does snowboarding training cause training response and what are the suitable methods for monitoring the training load. Eight young subjects aged 17–19 took part in measurements during the training camp, where the state of the autonomic nervous system was monitored throughout the camp with an orthostatic heart rate test, as well as nighttime heart rate monitoring for resting heart rate and heart rate variability. The performance variables maximal isometric leg press (MVC) and Counter Movement Jump (CMJ) were measured before the start of training and after the end of the camp, as well as during two follow-up days. In addition, during the camp and the follow-up period, the subjects' RPE, which evaluates the perceived load, was asked. In the MVC and CMJ tests, which measure performance, no significant changes were observed in any of the measurement points. In orthostatic heart rate measurements, significant changes were observed between the Pre – Mid measurement points regarding resting heart rate and heart rate variability (p<0.05). HRV decreased by 24 % and resting heart rate increased by 16,5 %. In addition, a significant change in RPE was observed between Pre – Mid measurement points as it increased by36 % (p<0.05). No statistically significant correlations were observed between heart rate variables and RPE. The training response caused by freestyle snowboarding training could be detected by monitoring the state of the autonomic nervous system, as well as by surveying RPE. Training did not cause a significant change in the performance variables. The RPE survey and the monitoring of heart rate variables could be used to monitor the load. It is important to consider the training load to minimize the risk of injury especially when practicing new tricks.
