Perinteiset johtamis-k\u00e4yt\u00e4nteet eiv\u00e4t sovellu muuttuneeseen ty\u00f6ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6\u00f6n, joka synnytt\u00e4\u00e4 uudenlaisia haasteita johtamiselle ja ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6iden ty\u00f6hyvinvoinnille. T\u00e4m\u00e4n pro gradun tarkoitus on selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, millaisen merkityksen et\u00e4ty\u00f6t\u00e4 tekev\u00e4t ty\u00f6ntekij\u00e4t antavat sosiaaliselle p\u00e4\u00e4omalle ty\u00f6hyvinvointinsa kannalta. Tarkoituksena on ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4\u00e4 millaiset tekij\u00e4t et\u00e4ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 tukevat sosiaalista p\u00e4\u00e4omaa ja mitk\u00e4 vaikuttavat siihen kielteisesti. Lis\u00e4ksi pro gradussa pyrit\u00e4\u00e4n ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n millainen merkitys et\u00e4johtamisella on koettuun sosiaaliseen p\u00e4\u00e4omaan ja millaisin keinoin et\u00e4johtajan on mahdollista vaikuttaa siihen my\u00f6nteisesti. Tutkimus toteutettiin laadullisena tutkimuksena ja aineisto koostui kohdeorganisaationa toimivan asiantuntijaorganisaation kaikista ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6ist\u00e4, pois lukien organisaation johtoryhm\u00e4. Haastattelut toteutettiin puolistrukturoituna teema-haastatteluna ja aineisto analysointiin k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en teemoittelua ja sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysia. Tulokset osoittavat sosiaalisen p\u00e4\u00e4oman olevan hyvin t\u00e4rke\u00e4 ty\u00f6hyvinvointiin vaikuttava tekij\u00e4. Et\u00e4ty\u00f6njohtaminen sosiaalista p\u00e4\u00e4omaa tukevalla tavalla vaatii johtajalta tie-toisia toimia ja k\u00e4yt\u00e4nteit\u00e4. Hyv\u00e4ss\u00e4 sosiaalista p\u00e4\u00e4omaa tukevassa johtamisessa tulee huomioida erityisesti luottamuksen rakentaminen, selke\u00e4 ja avoin kommunikointi, psykologisen turvallisuuden luominen sek\u00e4 arvostuksen, ymm\u00e4rryksen ja tuen osoittaminen ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6it\u00e4 kohtaan. Tulokset nostavat esiin my\u00f6s johdon l\u00e4heisyyden ja toimivien palaute k\u00e4yt\u00e4nteiden merkityksen sosiaaliselle p\u00e4\u00e4omalle. N\u00e4iden toteutuessa mahdollistuu yhteenkuuluvuuden tunne, hyv\u00e4 ty\u00f6ilmapiiri ja jaettu oppiminen sek\u00e4 l\u00e4heisten ihmissuhteiden muodostuminen, jotka kaikki koetaan sosiaalista p\u00e4\u00e4omaa tukeviksi tekij\u00f6iksi.
