T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkielmassa opintojaksoa tutkittiin alku- ja palautekyselyill\u00e4, joissa selvitettiin fysiikan opiskelun k\u00e4sitysten muuttumista opintojakson aikana sek\u00e4 osallistujien kokemuksia opintojaksosta ja MOOC-muotoisen toteutustavan onnistumisesta. Fysiikan tuoreet opinnot, aihepiirist\u00e4 kiinnostuneisuus ja fysiikan opiskeluun my\u00f6nteisesti suhtautuminen edesauttoivat opintojakson suorittamista, kun taas kielteiset k\u00e4sitykset, ulkoiset osallistumismotivaattorit ja aiheiden syv\u00e4llisen k\u00e4sittelyn toivominen v\u00e4hensiv\u00e4t sit\u00e4. Fysiikan yliopisto-opiskelu oli opintojakson j\u00e4lkeen joko p\u00e4\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4 tai entist\u00e4 kaukaisempi asia. MOOC-muotoinen itseopiskelu ja omaan tahtiin eteneminen todettiin parhaiten\ntoimiviksi opiskelijan henkil\u00f6kohtaisten resurssien sen salliessa ja omatoimisen opiskelun ollessa jo entuudestaan tuttua. Oppimateriaalin selkeys, johdonmukaisuus sek\u00e4 mahdollisten ongelmien ja kysymysten ennakointi auttoivat osallistujia opintojaksolla etenemisess\u00e4. Onnistunutta oli etenkin materiaalin audiovisuaaliset elementit sek\u00e4 teoriatekstiss\u00e4 olleet keskustelut kuvitteellisten hahmojen tai kirjoittajan ja lukijan v\u00e4lill\u00e4. Kehityskohteiksi nousivat audiovisuaalisuuden lis\u00e4\u00e4minen, lis\u00e4esimerkit, kertausosiot, useammat ja monipuolisemmat lasku- ja monivalintateht\u00e4v\u00e4t sek\u00e4 haastavammat teoriaosuudet ja teht\u00e4v\u00e4t niist\u00e4 kiinnostuneille.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "To lower the threshold for studying physics and to inspire people to physics, the Department of Physics at the University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 has developed a new, introducing modern physics MOOC course (Massive Open Online Course, i.e. a free online course for a large number of participants), whose topics are quantum mechanics and theory of relativity at a general level. In this thesis, the course was examined through initial and feedback surveys, which explored the changes in perceptions of studying physics during the course as well as the course experiences and the MOOC format\u2019s success from the perspective of the participants. Recent physics studies, interest in the subject and a positive attitude towards studying physics helped to complete the course while negative perceptions, external participation motivators and the desire for deep handling of topics reduced it. After the course, university studies in physics were either a goal or even more distant. Self-study in MOOC style and studying at your own pace worked best if the student\u2019s personal resources allowed it and if the self-study was already familiar. The clarity and consistency of the study material as well as the anticipation of any problems and questions helped the participants to progress in the course. The audiovisual elements of the material and discussions in the theory text between imaginary characters or the writer and the reader were particularly successful.
