Sosiaalisen yhteenkuuluvuuden tunteen yhteytt\u00e4 itsetunnon tasoon liikuntatuntien kontekstissa ei ole juurikaan tutkittu ja t\u00e4ll\u00e4 pro gradu -tutkielmalla pyrimme t\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n t\u00e4t\u00e4 tutkimusaukkoa. Tutkimuskysymyksi\u00e4 oli kolme; 1. Mik\u00e4 on oppilaiden itsetunnon ja sosiaalisen yhteenkuuluvuuden tunteen taso tutkimushetkell\u00e4? 2. Miten oppilaiden liikuntatunneilla kokema sosiaalisen yhteenkuuluvuuden tunne on yhteydess\u00e4 oppilaiden itsetunnon tasoon? 3. Miten koetun itsetunnon ja sosiaalisen yhteenkuuluvuuden tunteen tasot eroavat eri luokka-asteiden sek\u00e4 sukupuolten v\u00e4lill\u00e4?\n\nTutkimus toteutettiin kvantitatiivisin tutkimusmenetelmin. Itsetunnon tasoa mitattiin State Self-Esteem- mittarin avulla. Sosiaalisen yhteenkuuluvuuden tunnetta mitattiin Basic Psychological Need Satisfaction at Work Scale -mittarilla. Mittareista muodostettiin yksi yhten\u00e4inen kyselylomake. Aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin Webropolin avulla. Tutkimusaineisto koostui 121 oppilaasta kolmelta eri yl\u00e4asteelta. Tulosten analysoinnissa k\u00e4ytettiin IBM SPSS Statistics version 26.0 -ohjelmaa.\n\nKoettu itsetunto ja sosiaalinen yhteenkuuluvuus oli tutkimushetkell\u00e4 hyv\u00e4ll\u00e4 tasolla. Sosiaalisen yhteenkuuluvuuden tunne (M=3.43) oli hieman koettua itsetuntoa (M=3.2) korkeampi. Sosiaalisen yhteenkuuluvuuden tunne ja koettu itsetunto korreloivat voimakkaasti kesken\u00e4\u00e4n. Koettu itsetunto oli korkeampi 9. luokkalaisilla ja pojilla, kun taas 7. luokkalaisilla ja tyt\u00f6ill\u00e4 se oli matalampi. Poikien ja tytt\u00f6jen v\u00e4linen koetun itsetunnon ero oli merkitsev\u00e4. Sosiaalinen yhteenkuuluvuus oli vain hieman korkeampi 9. luokkalaisilla kuin 7. luokkalaisilla ja tulokset eiv\u00e4t olleet tilastollisesti merkitsevi\u00e4. Poikien sosiaalisen yhteenkuuluvuuden tunne oli hieman tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 korkeampi. Ero ei ollut tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4. Saadut tulokset tukevat osittain aikaisempia tutkimustuloksia. Liikuntatuntien yhteydess\u00e4 opettajalla on mahdollisuus tukea sosiaalisen yhteenkuuluvuuden tunteen t\u00e4yttymist\u00e4 sek\u00e4 vaikuttaa my\u00f6s oppilaiden itsetunnon tasoon.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "The purpose of this master's thesis was to find out the connection between the feeling of social relatedness and the perceived self-esteem of 7th and 9th graders during physical education classes. The relationship between the feeling of social relatedness and the level of self-esteem in the context of physical education lessons has not been studied much, and with this masters\u2019s thesis we aim to fill this research gap. There were three research questions; 1.What is the level of students' self-esteem and feeling of social relatedness at the time of the study? 2. How does students' sense of social relatedness in physical education lessons relate to their level of self-esteem? 3. How do the levels of perceived self-esteem and feeling of social relatedness differ between different grade levels and genders?\n\nThe research was executed using quantitative research methods. The level of self-esteem was measured using a State Self-Esteem Scale. The feeling of social relatedness was measured with the Basic Psychological Need Satisfaction at Work Scale. One unified questionnaire was formed from the indicators. The material was collected using Webropol. The research material consisted of 121 students from three different secondary schools. IBM SPSS Statistics version 26.0 was used to analyze the results.\n\nPerceived self-esteem and feeling of social relatedness were at a good level at the time of the study. The feeling of social relatedness (M=3.43) was slightly higher than the perceived self-esteem (M=3.2). Feelings of social relatedness and perceived self-esteem are strongly correlated. Perceived self-esteem was higher in 9th graders and boys, while it was lower in 7th graders and girls. The difference in perceived self-esteem between boys and girls was statistically significant. Social relatedness was only slightly higher in 9th graders than in 7th graders and the results were not statistically significant. Boys' feeling of social relatedness was slightly higher than girls'. The difference was not statistically significant. The results obtained partially support previous research results. The small sample size of the study undermines the reliability of the study and the relevance of the results.
