Seuraavaksi tarkastellaan erilaisia keinoja hillit\u00e4 p\u00e4\u00e4st\u00f6jen m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4\u00e4. Niit\u00e4 ovat erilaiset hiilidioksidin talteenottoon kehitetyt teknologiat ja sorbenteiksi soveltuvat materiaalit, joita voidaan k\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 sek\u00e4 pistem\u00e4isille p\u00e4\u00e4st\u00f6l\u00e4hteille ett\u00e4 suoraan ilmasta teht\u00e4v\u00e4lle talteenotolle. Tarkempaan tarkasteluun valikoituivat metalliorgaaniset verkkorakenteet (eng. Metal Organic Framework eli MOF), joiden k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4 sorbentteina erilaisissa kaasujen talteenotto- ja erotussovelluksissa tutkitaan paljon niiden kyseiseen k\u00e4ytt\u00f6tarkoitukseen sopivien ominaisuuksien takia. Talteenoton j\u00e4lkeiset hiilidioksidin jatkok\u00e4sittelytavat ovat tarkastelun kohteena kirjallisen osan loppupuolella. T\u00e4m\u00e4n j\u00e4lkeen luodaan viel\u00e4 katsaus MOF-yhdisteiden karakterisoinnin k\u00e4ytetyimpiin analyysimenetelmiin.\n\nKokeellisessa osassa valmistettiin useampi er\u00e4 hyvin tunnettuja kupari-, zirkonium- ja sinkkipohjaisia MOF-yhdisteit\u00e4 solvotermisell\u00e4 synteesimenetelm\u00e4ll\u00e4. Tarkoituksena oli tarkastella erilaisten synteesiolosuhteiden vaikutusta synteesierien lopputuotteeseen. Toisena vaiheena ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 valmistettiin sarja haihdutuskiteytyksi\u00e4, mink\u00e4 tavoitteena oli valmistaa mahdollisia uusia MOF-rakenteita. Haihdutuskiteytyksiss\u00e4 k\u00e4ytetiin metallisuola- ja ligandiliuoksia, jotka olivat vesi- tai metanolipohjaisia. Metallisuolat olivat kupari- tai sinkkipohjaisia. K\u00e4ytetyist\u00e4 ligandeista kahta eri 1,4-diatsabisyklo[2.2.2]-oktaani-pohjaista ligandia on jo aiemmin k\u00e4ytetty MOF-synteeseiss\u00e4, mutta kirjallisuuden perusteella 4-(bromometyyli)bentsoehappo-pohjaisen ligandin k\u00e4yt\u00f6st\u00e4 on raportoitu vain muutamia kertoja. Osassa kiteytyksist\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin lis\u00e4ksi apuligandina joko aminoryhm\u00e4n sis\u00e4lt\u00e4v\u00e4\u00e4 ligandia tai terti\u00e4\u00e4rist\u00e4 N-donoriligandia. Useasta 4-(bromometyyli)bentsoehappo-pohjaista ligandia ja kuparia sis\u00e4lt\u00e4v\u00e4st\u00e4 kiteytystuotteesta muodostui samanlainen 1D-MOF-rakenne (yhdiste 1). Kolmannessa kokeellisen osan vaiheessa tehtiin postsynteettist\u00e4 muokkausta HKUST-1 MOF:ille, johon sitoutettiin 3-pikolyyliamiinia sek\u00e4 toiseen er\u00e4\u00e4n 4-pikolyyliamiinia.
