Tutkimalla näitä asioita voidaan videopelejä kehittää entistä tehokkaammin käyttäjäystävällisemmiksi. Tämä tutkielma on toteutettu kirjallisuuskatsauksena. Tutkielmassa käsitellään ensin videopelejä ja niiden määritelmää, sitten käyttäjäkokemusta ja lopulta videopelien käyttäjäkokemusta ja sen mittaamista. Tutkielmassa käytiin läpi usea aiempi tutkimus, joiden perus-teella löydettiin yhteisiä tekijöitä, jotka vaikuttavat pelikokemukseen. Tutkimuksen tuloksena voidaan huomata monen asian vaikuttavan videopelien käyttäjäkokemukseen kokonaisuutena, kuten käyttöliittymän suunnittelun, flow’n ja sitoutumisen tai pelin sosiaalisuuden vaikutus. Tutkielman neljännessä kappaleessa on taulukko, johon on kerätty tärkeimmät käyttäjäkokemukseen vaikuttavat asiat. Tutkielma auttaa pelinkehittäjiä huomaamaan tärkeimmät osa-alueet pelin nautittavuuden kannalta, ja siten he voivat kehittää yhä parempia videopelejä tulevaisuudessa. This thesis is about videogames and the user experience of them. Videogames have reached global markets, there’s billions of euros circulating amongst the industry, and they are a daily hobby for many people. User experience is an important part of playability and enjoying the game, and it’s important to research things that affect the games’ game experience. By researching these things, can videogames be developed more efficiently user-friendly. This thesis has been carried out as a literature review. The thesis first investigates videogames and their definition, then user experience and finally the user experience of videogames and measuring it. In this thesis some earlier research was gone through, and common factors that affect the user experience were found. The research resulted in the following: many factors affect the game experience, such as UI design, flow and commitment and the social aspect of the game. In the fourth chapter of this thesis there is a table of the most important factors that affect the game experience of a videogame. This thesis is to help game developers notice the most important parts of the game when it comes to enjoyability, and therefore they can develop even better games in the future.
