Kiertotalouden on sanottu \nolevan ratkaisu maapallon raaka-aineiden rajallisuuteen. Digitaaliset teknologiat \nedist\u00e4v\u00e4t kiertotalouden k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6nottoa ja tulevaisuudessa tietoj\u00e4rjestelmien merkitys \nkiertotaloudessa kasvaa. J\u00e4rjestelmien yhteensovittamisessa tulee kuitenkin esteit\u00e4, sill\u00e4 \nkaikki j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4t luodaan suomessa tilauksesta ja yksi j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4toimittaja yleens\u00e4 \ntoimittaa koko paketin. Nykyisin tietoj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4t ovat useammin pilvipohjaisia, mink\u00e4 \nvuoksi t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4 on saada ne sopimaan yhteen, koska tiedon t\u00e4ytyy liikkua oikea-aikaisesti \noikeaan j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4\u00e4n. Pilvipalvelut kuuluvat yhten\u00e4 osana digitaalisiin teknologioihin \nkiertotaloudessa, mutta kiertotaloudessa k\u00e4ytett\u00e4v\u00e4t teknologiat eiv\u00e4t kuitenkaan rajoitu \npilvipalveluihin. Kiertotaloudessa k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n nelj\u00e4nnen teollisen vallankumouksen \nteknologioita kuten IoT-laitteita, big data -analytiikkaa ja kyberfyysisi\u00e4 j\u00e4rjestelmi\u00e4. \nKiertotaloudessa tarkoituksena on pit\u00e4\u00e4 materiaalit kierrossa mahdollisimman pitk\u00e4\u00e4n \nsek\u00e4 tuoda mahdollisimman v\u00e4h\u00e4n neitseellisi\u00e4 raaka-aineita kiertoon. Kiertotalouden \nkierron pident\u00e4minen kattaa sek\u00e4 fyysiset- ett\u00e4 biologiset raaka-aineet, mutta t\u00e4ss\u00e4 \ntutkielmassa keskityt\u00e4\u00e4n vain fyysisten materiaalien kiertoon. Tutkielmassa k\u00e4yd\u00e4\u00e4n \nmy\u00f6s pikaisesti l\u00e4pi mosaiikkiarkkitehtuuri sek\u00e4 makropalvelut, sill\u00e4 ne voivat olla \nolennainen osa j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4toimitustapaa tulevaisuudessa. Tiedon joustava liikkuvuus \noptimoi tavaran kiertoa. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkielman empiirinen osio suoritettiin \nmonitapaustutkimuksena. Ensimm\u00e4isess\u00e4 tapauksessa selvitettiin kiertotalouden \nnykytilanne. Toisessa tapauksessa analysoitiin opiskelijoiden ratkaisuja kiertotaloutta \nvarten. Tutkimuksen tulokset osoittavat, ett\u00e4 t\u00e4ll\u00e4 hetkell\u00e4 kiertotalouden potentiaalista \nk\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n vain murto-osa. Tutkimuksen tulokset osoittavat my\u00f6s, ett\u00e4 kiertotaloutta \nvoidaan edist\u00e4\u00e4 rakentamalla kiertotalouden periaatteet yritysten liiketoiminnan sis\u00e4lle. \nDigitaaliset teknologiat tulevat olemaan avainasemassa yritysten v\u00e4lisess\u00e4 kiertotaloutta \nedist\u00e4v\u00e4ss\u00e4 yhteisty\u00f6ss\u00e4.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "The topic of this thesis is digital technologies in the circular economy. Current \nconsumption habits are causing the depletion of the earth's resources, which is why \nsolutions for sustainable development are being sought diligently. The circular economy \nis said to be the solution to the finite nature of the Earth's raw materials. However, digital \ntechnologies are driving the adoption of the circular economy and in the future, \ninformation systems may play an even greater role in it. However, there are obstacles in\ninteroperability of information systems, as all systems are created in Finland on demand \nand one system supplier usually provides the whole package. Nowadays, information \nsystems are more often cloud-based, which is why it is important to get them to fit \ntogether, because information needs to move to the right system at the right time. Cloud \ncomputing is part of the digital technologies in the circular economy, but the technologies \nused in the circular economy are not limited to cloud computing. The circular economy \nuses technologies of the fourth industrial revolution such as IoT devices, big data \nanalytics and cyber-physical systems. The circular economy aims to keep materials in \ncirculation for as long as possible and to bring as few virgin materials into circulation as \npossible. The extension of the circular economy cycle covers both physical and biological \nraw materials, but this thesis focuses on the circulation of physical materials only. The \nthesis also takes a brief look at the mosaic architecture and macro services, as they could \nbe an essential part of the future system design because the flexible movement of \ninformation optimizes the circulation of goods. The empirical part of this thesis was \ncarried out as a multi-case study. In the first case, the current state of the circular \neconomy was investigated. The second case analyzed students' solutions for the circular \neconomy. The results of the study show that currently only a fraction of the potential of \nthe circular economy is used. The results of the study also show that the circular economy \ncan be promoted by building circular economy principles into the way companies do \nbusiness.
