Aiemmassa tutkimuksessa on huomattu, ett\u00e4 kokemukset kieliahdistuksesta tuntuvat usein kulkevan k\u00e4si k\u00e4dess\u00e4 oppimisvaikeuksien kanssa. N\u00e4it\u00e4 aiheita on tutkittu jonkin verran yhdess\u00e4, mutta tuen k\u00e4sitett\u00e4 on harvemmin liitetty mukaan aiemmassa tutkimuksessa. T\u00e4st\u00e4 syyst\u00e4 t\u00e4m\u00e4 tutkimus keskittyi k\u00e4sittelem\u00e4\u00e4n oppimisvaikeuksiin liitettyjen merkitysten, kieliahdistuksen kokemuksen ja oppilaiden tukemisen keskin\u00e4ist\u00e4 suhdetta muutamista eri n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmista.\n\nAineistoa t\u00e4h\u00e4n tutkielmaan ker\u00e4ttiin avaink\u00e4sitteiden mukaan teemoitellulla kyselylomakkeella, joka koostui erilaisista suljetuista, sek\u00e4 avoimista kysymyksist\u00e4. Kyselyn lis\u00e4ksi toteutettiin kaksi kokemusasiantuntijahaastattelua, joiden tarkoituksena oli syvent\u00e4\u00e4 kyselyn teemoja entisest\u00e4\u00e4n. Osallistujiksi pyydettiin aikuisia, joilla on jokin diagnosoitu oppimisen vaikeus, tai niihin vaikutuksiltaan rinnastettava diagnosoitu tila.\n\nTulosten perusteella vaikuttaa silt\u00e4, ett\u00e4 oppimisvaikeuksiin liitet\u00e4\u00e4n hyvin moninaisia merkityksi\u00e4, joista suuri osa on negatiivisia. Oppimisvaikeus voidaan n\u00e4hd\u00e4 esimerkiksi (kielten) oppimista ja akateemista menestyst\u00e4 haittaavana tekij\u00e4n\u00e4, tai itsetuntoon ja min\u00e4kuvaan negatiivisesti vaikuttavana tekij\u00e4n\u00e4. Oppimisvaikeuteen liitett\u00e4vien moninaisten merkitysten lis\u00e4ksi kieliahdistuksen kokemus vaikuttaa olevan melko yleinen ilmi\u00f6 tutkittavien joukossa, mutta kokemuksen intensiteetiss\u00e4 ja toistuvuudessa on eroavaisuuksia. Lis\u00e4ksi tuloksissa nousee esiin yleinen kokemus siit\u00e4, ett\u00e4 tuen saanti on ollut enemmist\u00f6lle riitt\u00e4m\u00e4t\u00f6nt\u00e4. T\u00e4m\u00e4n lis\u00e4ksi erityisesti haastatteluissa nousi esiin n\u00e4kemys siit\u00e4, ett\u00e4 oikeanlaisella tuella olisi voinut olla merkitt\u00e4vi\u00e4 positiivisia vaikutuksia sek\u00e4 oppimiseen, ett\u00e4 yksil\u00f6n itsetuntoon. \n\nVaikka t\u00e4m\u00e4 tutkielma osaltaan t\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 rajattua tutkimusaukkoa, my\u00f6s lis\u00e4tutkimukselle on yh\u00e4 tarvetta. Oppimisvaikeuksien, kieliahdistuksen ja oppilaiden tukemisen suhdetta olisi hyv\u00e4 tutkia lis\u00e4\u00e4 esimerkiksi aineenopettajien n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta, tarkastellen aineenopettajien valmiuksia tukea oppilaita, joilla on erilaisia oppimisvaikeuksia. T\u00e4m\u00e4n lis\u00e4ksi lis\u00e4tutkimusta tarvittaisiin tuen toteuttamisesta suhteessa opetussuunnitelman asettamiin raameihin.
