Tutkielma toteutettiin osana Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopiston ja Suomen Fysioterapeutit ry:n yhteist\u00e4 Fysioterapeuttien ydinosaaminen -hanketta. \n\nAineisto koostuu vuosina 2017 ja 2018 Suomen Fysioterapeutit ry:n opiskelijaj\u00e4senille l\u00e4hetetyn strukturoidun kyselyn vastauksista (n=198, vastausprosentti 14,9 %). Kysely koostui taustatietojen lis\u00e4ksi 122 Likert-asteikollisesta (1\u20135) v\u00e4itt\u00e4m\u00e4st\u00e4 sek\u00e4 kolmesta avoimesta kysymyksest\u00e4. N\u00e4ist\u00e4 tarkempaan analyysiin valittiin 20 v\u00e4itt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4 sis\u00e4lt\u00e4v\u00e4 osa-alue Ohjaus ja opetus fysioterapeuttikoulutuksessa. Aineistosta muodostettiin faktorianalyysin avulla kolme summamuuttuja: S1. Koulutuksen tuottama koettu osaaminen suhteessa ty\u00f6el\u00e4m\u00e4n tarpeisiin, S2. Opettajien ohjaus ammatillisen osaamisen kehitt\u00e4j\u00e4n\u00e4 ja S3. Inhimillinen kohtelu. Aineisto analysoitiin IBM SPSS 24.0 -ohjelmalla: frekvenssianalyysill\u00e4, ristiintaulukoinnilla ja \u03c7\u00b2 -testill\u00e4, Kruskal-Wallisin ja Mann-Whitneyn -testeill\u00e4 sek\u00e4 lineaarisella regressioanalyysill\u00e4. Tilastollisen merkitsevyyden rajana pidettiin arvoa p < 0.05. Lis\u00e4ksi toteutettiin j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4llinen tiedonhaku aihepiirist\u00e4.\n\nHieman yli puolet (55,7 %) vastaajista koki fysioterapeuttikoulutuksen tuottaman osaamisen vastaavan hyvin tulevaisuuden ty\u00f6el\u00e4m\u00e4n tarpeisiin. Parhaiten t\u00e4t\u00e4 selittiv\u00e4t opiskelijoiden arviot opettajien ohjauksesta ammatillisen osaamisensa kehitt\u00e4j\u00e4n\u00e4 sek\u00e4 asiakasl\u00e4ht\u00f6isen ohjauksen toteutuminen fysioterapiassa (R2 = 0,29, p > 0,001). Fysioterapeuttiopiskelijat kokivat opettajien ohjauksen tukevan heid\u00e4n ammatillisen osaamisensa kehittymist\u00e4. Parhaiten kokemuksia ohjauksesta selittiv\u00e4t koulutuksen tuottama hyv\u00e4 koettu osaaminen suhteessa ty\u00f6el\u00e4m\u00e4n tarpeisiin, johtaminen ja toimintakulttuuri fysioterapiassa sek\u00e4 kokemus inhimillisest\u00e4 kohtelusta (R2 = 0.43, p > 0.001). Selke\u00e4 enemmist\u00f6 fysioterapeuttiopiskelijoista koki tulleensa kohdelluksi inhimillisesti niin vertaisopiskelijoiden (94,3 %) kuin opetushenkil\u00f6kunnan (87,2 %) taholta. N\u00e4it\u00e4 kokemuksia selitti parhaiten opiskelijoiden kokemukset opettajien ohjauksesta ammatillisen osaamisen kehitt\u00e4j\u00e4n\u00e4 sek\u00e4 kokemukset yhteis\u00f6llisest\u00e4 fysioterapiatoiminnasta (R2 = 0,27, p > 0,001). I\u00e4ll\u00e4, opintojen kestolla eli suoritetuilla opintopisteill\u00e4 tai sukupuolella ei havaittu olevan tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4\u00e4 yhteytt\u00e4 (p < 0,05) opiskelijoiden kokemuksiin opettajien ohjauksesta, inhimillisest\u00e4 kohtelusta tai koulutuksen tuottamasta koetusta osaamisesta. \n\nT\u00e4m\u00e4 tutkimus tuo uutta tietoa sek\u00e4 auttaa ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n fysioterapeuttiopiskelijoiden ammatillisen osaamisen, ohjauksen ja inhimillisen kohtelun kokemusten taustalla vaikuttavia tekij\u00f6it\u00e4. Hyv\u00e4 ohjaus tukee opiskelijoiden ammatillisen osaamisen kehittymist\u00e4 ja kokemuksia inhimillisest\u00e4 kohtelusta. The thesis was a part of the Core competencies of a physiotherapist project jointly organized by the University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 and the Finnish Association of Physiotherapists.\n\nThe data consists of responses to a structured survey (n = 198, response rate 14.9%) sent to student members of the Finnish Association of Physiotherapists in 2017 and 2018. In addition to background data, the survey comprised of 122 Likert scale statements and three open-ended questions. From these, the segment labeled Guidance and teaching in physiotherapy education, which included 20 statements, was chosen for a more detailed analysis. The data was trans-formed into three sum variables with factor analysis: S1. the experienced utility of the education in relation to work life needs, S2. teacher guidance as developer of professional competence, and S3. humane treatment. The data was analyzed with IBM SPSS 24.0 utilizing frequency analysis, cross-tabulation, \u03c7\u00b2 test, the Kruskal-Wallis and the Mann-Whitney tests, and linear regression analysis. The threshold for statistical significance was p < 0.05. The study was complemented with a systematic literature review.\n\nSlightly more than half (55.7%) of respondents considered the competence produced by physio-therapist education to meet well the needs of future work life. This was best explained by the students\u2019 perception of teacher guidance as developer of professional competence and the realization of customer-centric guidance in physiotherapy (R2 = 0.29, p > 0.001). The physiotherapist students considered their teachers\u2019 guidance to support them in developing their professional competence. The experiences of guidance were best explained by good perceived education-based competence in relation to work life needs, management and operative culture in physio-therapy, and the experience of humane treatment (R2 = 0.43, p > 0.001). A clear majority of physiotherapist students felt having been treated humanely both by peers (94.3%) and staff (87.2%). These experiences were best explained by the students\u2019 perceptions of teacher guidance as developer of professional competence and experiences of communal physiotherapy activity (R2 = 0.27, p > 0.001). Age, duration of studies, that is, accumulated credits, or sex were not perceived to have any statistically significant connection (p < 0.05) to the students\u2019 experiences of teacher guidance, humane treatment, or education-based perceived competence.\n\nThis study brings new information and helps to understand the factors affecting physiotherapist students\u2019 experiences of professional competence, guidance, and humane treatment. Good guidance supports the development of the students\u2019 professional competence and the experience of humane treatment. Experiences from practical work have a significant connection both to experiences of guidance during studies and to perceived competence.
