Naisten kokemuksia tarkastellaan sukupuolin\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta ja keskeist\u00e4 on, miten sukupuoli merkityksellistyy sis\u00e4isiss\u00e4 ja ulkoisissa rekrytoinneissa ja sen eri vaiheissa. Tutkimuksen laajempana tavoitteena on tarkastella rekrytointiprosessien sek\u00e4 naisten uramahdollisuuksien v\u00e4list\u00e4 suhdetta. \nTeoreettinen viitekehys kuvaa rekrytointiprosessia ja sen vaiheita tarkastellaan erityisesti sukupuolen n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta. Lis\u00e4ksi teoreettisessa viitekehyksess\u00e4 kuvataan sukupuolta sosiaalisena rakenteena ja k\u00e4sitell\u00e4\u00e4n sukupuolten v\u00e4list\u00e4 tasa-arvoa ty\u00f6el\u00e4m\u00e4ss\u00e4 sek\u00e4 IT-alan segregaatiota. Tutkimuksen aineisto on ker\u00e4tty haastattelemalla 15:t\u00e4 IT-alalla ty\u00f6skentelev\u00e4\u00e4 naista puolistrukturoitujen teemahaastatteluiden avulla. Tutkimus on laadullinen tutkimus ja aineisto on analysoitu sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysin avulla. \nTutkimus vahvistaa k\u00e4sityst\u00e4 siit\u00e4, ett\u00e4 rekrytointik\u00e4yt\u00e4nteill\u00e4 on vaikutusta naisten uramahdollisuuksiin. Sukupuoli merkityksellistyi kautta rekrytointiprosessin. Erityisesti sukupuolittunut rekrytointiviestint\u00e4 vaikuttaa naisten kiinnostukseen yrityst\u00e4 kohtaan, hakuaikomukseen ja siten uramahdollisuuksiin. Alalla vallitsevat maskuliiniset oletukset ja stereotypiat m\u00e4\u00e4rittelev\u00e4t edelleen naisen roolia erityisesti teknisen\u00e4 asiantuntijana. Sukupuoli merkityksellistyi feminiinisyyden ja teknisen asiantuntijuuden v\u00e4lisess\u00e4 ristiriidassa. Edellisten lis\u00e4ksi sukupuoli merkityksellistyi muun muassa ty\u00f6haastatteluissa ja palkkaan liittyviss\u00e4 neuvotteluissa.
