Tarkoituksena on selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, kuinka ne kehittyv\u00e4t alkeellisemmalta tasolta edistyneemm\u00e4lle tasolle sek\u00e4, kuinka ne vastaavat opetussuunnitelman tavoitteita ja taitotasoja. Tutkimus sijoittuu didaktiikan tieteenalalle ja siin\u00e4 erityisesti kommunikatiiviseen l\u00e4hestymistapaan. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, millaisia suullisia teht\u00e4vi\u00e4 Escalier-oppikirjasarjassa on, ja kuinka ne kehittyv\u00e4t taitotasojen mukaisesti suullisen kielitaidon kehittyess\u00e4. Tutkimuksen korpuksena on Escalier-kirjasarjan ensimm\u00e4inen ja viimeinen osa, mik\u00e4 mahdollistaa teht\u00e4vien kehityksen tarkastelun parhaiten. Aineistoa analysoidaan ensin m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4llisell\u00e4 tutkimustavalla havainnollistamalla tilastollisesti suullisten teht\u00e4vien m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4\u00e4 kokonaisuudessaan ja sen j\u00e4lkeen niiden m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4\u00e4 muihin teht\u00e4viin verrattuna. Laadullisella sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysilla teht\u00e4v\u00e4t luokiteltiin pienempiin kategorioihin, jotta sen j\u00e4lkeen oli mahdollista analysoida tarkemmin teht\u00e4vi\u00e4 jokaisesta kategoriasta. Analyysin pohjalta voidaan todeta, ett\u00e4 Escalier 1 kirjassa on yhteens\u00e4 21 suullista teht\u00e4v\u00e4\u00e4 ja Escalier 4 puolestaan 15 teht\u00e4v\u00e4\u00e4. Verrattaessa suullisten teht\u00e4vien m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4\u00e4 muihin teht\u00e4viin, k\u00e4vi ilmi, ett\u00e4 n\u00e4ist\u00e4 teht\u00e4vist\u00e4 ainoastaan kulttuuri- ja kuunteluteht\u00e4vi\u00e4 oli v\u00e4hemm\u00e4n kuin suullisia teht\u00e4vi\u00e4. Kirjallisia kielioppi- ja sanastoteht\u00e4vi\u00e4 oli huomattavasti enemm\u00e4n kuin muita teht\u00e4vi\u00e4, eli voidaan todeta, ett\u00e4 kirjallisesti tuotettavat teht\u00e4v\u00e4t ovat t\u00e4ss\u00e4 oppikirjasarjassa vallitsevia. Teht\u00e4v\u00e4t jaettiin ensin nelj\u00e4\u00e4n p\u00e4\u00e4kategoriaan ja sitten my\u00f6s seitsem\u00e4\u00e4n pienemp\u00e4\u00e4n kategoriaan, jotka on nimetty teht\u00e4v\u00e4nantojen mukaisesti, lukuun ottamatta yht\u00e4 kategoriaa. Lopputulos on se, ett\u00e4 Escalier oppikirjasarjan suulliset teht\u00e4v\u00e4t vastaavat hyvin oppikirjan omaa taitotasoa eli Escalier 1 kirjan teht\u00e4v\u00e4t vastaavat tasoa A1 ja Escalier 4 teht\u00e4v\u00e4t puolestaan tasoja A2 tai B1.
