L\u00e4hiaikoina on alettu tutkia sosiaalisen robotiikan mahdollisuuksia koulutuksessa, jolloin teknologian hy\u00f6dyt, kuten kustomoitavuus, skaalautuvuus ja sis\u00e4ll\u00f6n helppo lis\u00e4\u00e4minen, yhdistyv\u00e4t robotin keholliseen ja sosiaaliseen olemukseen. Ajankohtaisiin koulutuspoliittisiin muutoksiin liittyv\u00e4n opettajatarpeen vuoksi on t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4 selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, miksei robotiikkaa hy\u00f6dynnet\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n opetuksen tukena, vaikka niiden on todettu lis\u00e4\u00e4v\u00e4n motivaatiota, mielenkiintoa ja emotionaalista sitoutuneisuutta, sek\u00e4 tarjoavan personoitua opetusta, palautetta, ohjeistusta ja keinoja tulosten dokumentointiin ja tarkasteluun. Toisaalta k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4 on my\u00f6s eettisi\u00e4 ja emotionaalisia haasteita, turvallisuuden ja yksityisyyden haasteita, sek\u00e4 muita k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6noton haasteita, kuten teknologian k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n vaikuttavat opettajien asenteet ja kyvykkyydet. Palvelukeskeisest\u00e4 logiikasta ja arvon yhteisluomisesta on tehty tutkimusta vasta yleisesti palvelurobottien n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta ja korkeamman koulutuksen osalta. T\u00e4m\u00e4n pro gradu -tutkielman tarkoituksena oli vastata kirjallisuuden tutkimusaukkoon ja edist\u00e4\u00e4 ymm\u00e4rryst\u00e4 sosiaalisen robotiikan arvonluonnista alakouluissa. Alakouluopettajien asenteita, mielipiteit\u00e4 ja erilaisia visioita opetusk\u00e4yt\u00f6n sosiaalista robotiikkaa kohtaan selvitettiin ennakkokyselyn ja noin 45\u201460 minuuttia kest\u00e4neiden laadullisten teemahaastattelujen avulla, joita analysoitiin temaattisella analyysimenetelm\u00e4ll\u00e4. L\u00f6yd\u00f6sten mukaan haastateltavat k\u00e4ytt\u00e4v\u00e4t runsaasti teknologiaa opetuksessaan ja olisivat valmiita kokeilemaan my\u00f6s sosiaalisia robotteja alas- tai yl\u00f6sp\u00e4in eriytt\u00e4misess\u00e4 ja yksinkertaisissa, toistoa vaativissa teht\u00e4viss\u00e4. Robotin itsen\u00e4iseen toimintaan ei kuitenkaan luotettaisi koulumaailmassa, vaan se saisi toimia enint\u00e4\u00e4n ohjaajan roolissa. Kaikki haastateltavat uskoivat, ett\u00e4 robotti lis\u00e4isi opetuksen viihtyvyytt\u00e4, mutta seurauksien pitk\u00e4aikaisuutta kyseenalaistettiin. Robotiikan k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6notossa opettajia eniten huoletti lis\u00e4\u00e4ntyv\u00e4 ty\u00f6m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4, johon ratkaisuksi ehdotettiin erillisen ty\u00f6ntekij\u00e4n palkkausta tai oppilaiden keskeist\u00e4 tutortoimintaa.
