Yleisin AR:n k\u00e4ytt\u00f6tapa t\u00e4ll\u00e4 hetkell\u00e4 on AR:n yhdist\u00e4minen \net\u00e4tukipalveluihin, joiden avulla et\u00e4asiantuntija voi opastaa esimerkiksi \nkokemattomamman teknikon huoltoteht\u00e4v\u00e4n l\u00e4pi merkaten t\u00e4m\u00e4n AR-laitteen \nreaalimaailman n\u00e4kym\u00e4\u00e4n kohteita, joihin fokusoitua. Edell\u00e4 kuvailtujen \nvisualisoivien ohjelmistojen lis\u00e4ksi AR voi tulevaisuudessa itsen\u00e4isesti opastaa\nteknikkoa l\u00e4pi erin\u00e4isten prosessien suorittamisen tunnistamalla kohteita ja \ntoimintoja reaalimaailmassa, ja tarjoamalla kontekstisidonnaista informaatiota. \nLis\u00e4ksi AR voi toimia er\u00e4\u00e4nlaisena keskitettyn\u00e4 virtuaalisena k\u00e4ytt\u00f6liittym\u00e4n\u00e4 \nerin\u00e4isten koneiden ja j\u00e4rjestelmien kontrollointiin.\n\nAR:n keskeisin hy\u00f6ty on tiedon parempi saatavuus edell\u00e4 kuvailluin \nmenetelmin. AR-j\u00e4rjestelmien ohjeistus koetaan helpommin ymm\u00e4rrett\u00e4v\u00e4n\u00e4 ja \nintuitiivisempana kuin perinteiset ohjeistukset esimerkiksi paperimuodossa. \nTiedon saatavuus n\u00e4kyy taloudellisena hy\u00f6tyn\u00e4 s\u00e4\u00e4st\u00f6in\u00e4 ja korkeampana \ntehokkuutena. AR voi my\u00f6s mahdollistaa tiettyj\u00e4 organisaatiotason strategiaan \nja transformaatioon liittyvi\u00e4 hy\u00f6tyj\u00e4. Er\u00e4\u00e4nlainen vaatimus hy\u00f6tyjen \nrealisoitumiselle on kuitenkin integraatio paitsi tuotantolaitteistoon, my\u00f6s \nyrityksen kattaviin tietoj\u00e4rjestelmiin ja IT-infrastruktuuriin. Lis\u00e4ksi yrityksilt\u00e4 \nvaaditaan panostuksia IT-resursseihin ja -osaamiseen ohjelmistojen- ja \nsis\u00e4ll\u00f6nkehitt\u00e4misess\u00e4, organisaation toiminnan muutoksen edesauttamiseen \nsek\u00e4 loppuk\u00e4ytt\u00e4jien osallistamiseen. AR:n k\u00e4ytt\u00f6 teollisuudessa on yh\u00e4 pitk\u00e4lti \npilottitestien varassa yritysten tutkiessa AR:\u00e4\u00e4 tai seuratessa AR:n teknist\u00e4 \nkehityst\u00e4 sivusta.\n\nT\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkielmassa tutkimuksen kohteena ovat AR:n teolliset \nhy\u00f6dynt\u00e4mistavat. Tutkielman tavoitteena on ker\u00e4t\u00e4 tietoa ja laajentaa \nymm\u00e4rryst\u00e4 AR:n k\u00e4ytt\u00f6tavoista, AR:n mahdollistamista hy\u00f6dyist\u00e4 ja siit\u00e4, \nkuinka AR tulisi ottaa k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n hy\u00f6tyjen realisoitumiseksi. Tutkielma \nmuodostuu kahdesta osiosta: kirjallisuuskatsauksesta, joissa luodaan \nteoreettinen perusta, sek\u00e4 haastatteluiden avulla toteutettavasta empiirisest\u00e4 \nosiosta, jossa yhteens\u00e4 11 suomalaista teollisuuden sek\u00e4 IT- ja konsultointialan \nasiantuntijaa kertovat n\u00e4kemyksi\u00e4\u00e4n ja kokemuksiaan AR:\u00e4\u00e4n liittyen.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "Augmented Reality (\u201cAR\u201d) is a technology in which real-time, real-world \nsenses are augmented with virtual, location-specific elements. In industrial \nusage AR can exist for example as so, that an AR device recognizes an \nindustrial machine in its surroundings and gives real-time information about \nthe state of the machine. Currently, the most common use-case for AR is \ncombining AR with remote support services, in which a remote expert can \nguide for instance an unexperienced service technician through a service task \nwhile marking in the technician\u2019s field-of-view spots in which to focus. Besides \nthe abovementioned visualizing software, in the future AR can independently \nguide a technician through the completion of various processes by recognizing \nobjects and actions in the real world, and by providing context-specific \ninformation. Additionally, AR can work as a kind-of-a centralized virtual user \ninterface for controlling various machines and systems.\n\nAR\u2019s main benefit is the better access to information with the \nabovementioned techniques. The instructions of AR-systems are seen as more \neasily understandable and more intuitive than traditional guidance for instance \nin paper-form. The availability of information is visible as economic benefits in \nthe form of savings and higher productivity. AR can also enable certain \norganization-level strategic and transformational benefits. However, one type \nof a prerequisite for the formation of these abovementioned benefits is the \nintegration of AR to shop-floor machinery, information systems and the IT \narchitecture. Also, companies need to invest in IT resources and skills in \nsoftware and content development, in creating organizational change and in \nparticipating end-users. The utilization of AR is still heavily focused on pilot \ntests while companies investigate AR or follow AR\u2019s technical progress from \nthe sidelines. \n\nIn this thesis the focus of research is on the industrial utilization of AR. \nThe goal of the thesis is to collect information and expand understanding of the \nways in which AR can be used, which benefits the use of AR enables creating \nand how the implementation of AR should be done to ensure the benefits \nbecome realized.
