Tutkimuksessa otetaan selv\u00e4\u00e4 tandempedagogiikan laajentamisen mahdollisuuksista opettajankoulutuksessa sek\u00e4 mallin eduista ja haasteista, jotka kieltenopettajan tulisi tiet\u00e4\u00e4 jo opettajankoulutuksessa. Tutkielman keskeisin k\u00e4site on luokkatandem, joka tarkoittaa kahden, suomen- ja ruotsinkielisen, koululuokan v\u00e4list\u00e4 yhteisty\u00f6t\u00e4, jossa oppijat oppivat toistensa \u00e4idinkieli\u00e4 pareittain.\nTutkimukseen osallistui kaksi henkil\u00f6\u00e4, joita t\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa kutsutaan opettajankouluttajaksi ja opettajaopiskelijaksi. Tutkimuksen aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin kahden puolistrukturoidun haastattelun avulla syksyll\u00e4 2021. Haastattelut litteroitiin ja aineisto analysoitiin laadullisen sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysin keinoin. Tutkimuskysymykseni olivat: 1. Miten tandempedagogiikkaa voitaisiin hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 laajemmin opettajankoulutuksessa? 2. Mit\u00e4 tandempedagogiikka voi antaa kieltenopettajankoulutukselle?\nTutkimukseni tulokset osoittavat, ett\u00e4 tandempedagogiikkaa on vaikeaa hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 laajemmassa kontekstissa. Luokkatandem on kielenoppimisen mallina hyvin rajoittunut, eik\u00e4 sit\u00e4 voida k\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 esimerkiksi kaksikielisten oppijoiden kielenoppimisessa. My\u00f6s yliopistokontekstissa ilmenee haasteita, sill\u00e4 ruotsinkielisi\u00e4 opiskelijoita on huomattavasti v\u00e4hemm\u00e4n kuin suomenkielisi\u00e4 opiskelijoita. Tutkimuksessa tuli esille my\u00f6s monia seikkoja, jotka tulisi huomioida opettajankoulutuksessa, kuten opettajan uuden roolin omaksumisen haaste sek\u00e4 luokkatandem-mallin kommunikatiivisuuden ja autenttisuuden edut.
