Avaan tutkielmassa yleisesti kryptovaluuttaa, tokeneita sekä Ethereumia, joka toimii NFT:n pääasiallisena alustana. Avaan myös NFT:n erilaisia muotoja ja otan kantaa NFTM-alustojen turvallisuusongelmiin sekä ominaisuuksiin. Paneudun myös lyhyesti NFT:n mahdollisiin käyttötar-koituksiin tulevaisuudessa ja tuon esiin mahdollisia jatkotutkimuksen aiheita. Tutkimus osoittaa, että NFT on monipuolinen teknologia, jolla on hyviä sekä huonoja puolia eikä se rajoitu pelkästään digitaalisen taiteen kaup-paan. Etenkin fyysisen omaisuuden tokenisaatio pystyy luomaan tulevaisuu-dessa uudenlaisia liiketoiminta malleja sekä tekemään sijoitustoiminnasta ha-jautettua. NFT:n mahdollisuudet ja ongelmat riippuvat pitkälti sen käyttäjistä. Tutkielma on toteutettu kirjallisuuskatsauksena. Lähteistöksi on valikoitu pääasiassa tieteellisiä artikkeleita, kun se on ollut mahdollista. Aiemman tutkimuksen niukkuudella on vaikutusta tämän tutkielman raken-teeseen, sekä lähteisiin. Kattavan lähdekirjallisuuden puuttumisen vuoksi läh-teistö on kirjavaa ja tämä toimii myös motivaationa mahdollisia jatkotutkimuk-sia varten. Non-fungible token’s (NFTs) have gained great popularity during 2021. However, as a cryptocurrency, NFT is less well known than the already established Bitcoin and Ethereum, so it requires closer examination. In financial terms, NFTs trading revenue in 2021 was $ 25 billion. This dissertation examines NFTs from the perspective of new technology, its features, components, and its current market platforms and uses. In my dissertation, I generally open the concept of cryptocurrency, tokens and Ethereum, which serves as the main platform for the NFT. I will also clarify the different forms of NFTs and describe the security issues and features of NFTM platforms. I will also briefly address the possible uses of the NFTs in the future and highlight possible topics for further research. Research shows that NFT is a versatile technology with pros and cons and is not limited to the digital art trade. In particular, the tokenization of physical assets will be able to create new types of business models in the future and make investment activities decentralized. The opportunities and problems of the NFT depend largely on its users. The dissertation has been implemented as a literature review. Where possible, scientific articles have been selected as the source. The scarcity of previous research has an impact on the structure of this dissertation, as well as the sources. Due to the lack of comprehensive source literature, the sources are varied, and this also serves as a motivation for possible further research.
