Ammattilaisten rooli kuntoutuksessa on keskeinen ja heid\u00e4n n\u00e4kemyksens\u00e4 ovat hy\u00f6dynnett\u00e4viss\u00e4 hevosavusteisen kuntoutuksen kehitt\u00e4misess\u00e4. Kartoittavan kirjallisuuskatsauksen perusteella aihetta on tutkittu v\u00e4h\u00e4n. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on kuvata kuntoutuspalveluja tarjoavien ammattilaisten n\u00e4kemyksi\u00e4 hevosavusteisen kuntoutuksen merkityksest\u00e4 siten, kun he ovat sen kokeneet. \n\nTutkimuksen aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin elo-marraskuussa 2016 avoimen haastattelun avulla osana Kelan rahoittamaa Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopiston Ratsastusterapia \u2013 vaikuttavuus ja merkitykset -tutkimushanketta. Tutkimukseen osallistui kuusi ratsastusterapeuttia ja kaksi SPHT ohjaajaa, joita haastateltiin eri puolilla Suomea. N\u00e4kemysten tarkastelua ohjasi fenomenologishermeneuttinen l\u00e4hestymistapa, joka pyrki inhimillisen kokemusmaailman ja siihen kytkeytyvien merkitysten kokonaisvaltaiseen ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4miseen. Litteroidut haastattelut (n=8) analysoitiin temaattisen analyysin avulla rivi rivilt\u00e4. Ammattilaisten n\u00e4kemykset pelkistettiin koodeiksi, jotka j\u00e4rjesteltiin teemoiksi. \n\nTutkimuksen keskeiset tulokset ovat hevosen merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4t ominaisuudet terapiaty\u00f6ss\u00e4, asiakkaiden kokema hy\u00f6ty kuntoutuksesta sek\u00e4 hevosen l\u00e4sn\u00e4olon merkitys. In Finland, the most important forms of activity are social pedagogical horse activity (SPHT) and riding therapy which can be provided as intensive medical rehabilitation if the requirements are met. The role of professionals in rehabilitation is central and their views can be utilized in the development of equine-assisted rehabilitation. Based on a scoping literature review, little research has been done on the topic. The purpose of this study is to describe the views of professionals providing rehabilitation services on the meanings of equine-assisted rehabilitation as they have experienced it.\n\nThe material of the study was collected in August-November 2016 through an open interview as part of the Kela-funded research project Ratsastusterapia \u2013 vaikuttavuus ja merkitykset \u2013 research project of the University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4. The study involved six riding therapists and two SPHT instructors who were interviewed across Finland. The examination of the views was guided by a phenomenological approach that sought a holistic understanding of the world of human experience and the meanings associated with it. Literated interviews (n = 8) were analyzed line by line using thematic analysis. The views of the professionals were reduced to codes, which were then organized into themes.\n\nThe main results of the study are the significant characteristics of the horse in therapy work, the benefit experienced by the clients from rehabilitation and the importance of the horse's presence. The profession consisted of the meaning of education, networks, and the role of a professional. Therapyhorse is equine-assisted rehabilitation pro-\nfessionals working pair.
