T\u00e4m\u00e4n seurantatutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 iskutuksia sis\u00e4lt\u00e4v\u00e4n intervention vaikutuksien pysyvyytt\u00e4 lis\u00e4\u00e4ntyneeseen reisiluun kaulan mineraalimassaan sek\u00e4 parantuneeseen dynaamiseen tasapainoon 12 kuukauden harjoitusintervention p\u00e4\u00e4tytty\u00e4 24 kuukauden seurannassa. Lis\u00e4ksi tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, ett\u00e4 muuttuuko lannerangan ja reisiluun kaulan mineraalitiheys, lannerangan luun mineraalimassa, polven itsearvioitu kipu, j\u00e4ykkyys ja toimintakyky 12 kuukauden harjoitusintervention p\u00e4\u00e4tytty\u00e4 24 kuukauden seurannassa. Lis\u00e4ksi tutkittavien liikunta-aktiivisuutta mitattiin liikuntap\u00e4iv\u00e4kirjan ja harjoitusryhm\u00e4\u00e4n osallistumisen avulla.\n\nTutkimukseen osallistui 80 postmenopausaalista naista, joilla oli todettu liev\u00e4 polvinivelrikko. Harjoitusryhm\u00e4 toteutti nousujohteista iskutuksia sis\u00e4lt\u00e4v\u00e4\u00e4 aerobic- ja step-aerobic-harjoittelua kolme kertaa viikossa 12 kuukauden ajan. Kontrolliryhm\u00e4 jatkoi aiempaa liikuntak\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymist\u00e4\u00e4n. Tutkittaville toteutettiin alkumittaukset (0 kk), loppumittaukset (12 kk) ja seurantamittaukset 12 kuukauden seurannan j\u00e4lkeen (24 kk). T\u00e4ss\u00e4 seurantatutkimuksessa ryhmien v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 eroja vertailtiin riippumattomien otosten T-testill\u00e4. Ryhmien v\u00e4listen erojen vertailussa loppumittauksessa (12 kk) ja seurantamittauksessa (24 kk) k\u00e4ytettiin toistettujen mittausten varianssianalyysi\u00e4, jossa loppumittaus (12 kk) toimi kovariaattina. Lis\u00e4ksi harjoitus- ja kontrolliryhmien tuloksista laskettiin kahden riippumattoman otoksen T-testill\u00e4 erotusmuutosmuuttujat v\u00e4hent\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 loppuarvosta (12 kk) seuranta-arvo (24 kk) ja vertailemalla niiden keskiarvoja toisiinsa.\n\nAlkuper\u00e4isen tutkimuksen loppumittauksien (12 kk) mukaan vuoden kest\u00e4nyt s\u00e4\u00e4nn\u00f6llinen iskutuksia sis\u00e4lt\u00e4v\u00e4 harjoittelu lis\u00e4si harjoitusryhm\u00e4ll\u00e4 reisiluun kaulan mineraalimassaa 0.6 %, kun se v\u00e4heni kontrolliryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4 1.2 % T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa havaittiin, ett\u00e4 liikuntainterventiolla saavutetut tulokset laskivat merkitsev\u00e4sti vuoden seurannassa. Menopause, and especially early menopause, are risk factors for bone loss and related fractures. The purpose of this follow-up study was to investigate the persistence of the effects of high-impact exercise intervention on increased femoral neck bone mineral mass and improved dynamic balance from the end of the 12-month exercise intervention to the 24-month follow-up. In addition, the purpose of the study was to determine whether lumbar and femoral neck bone mineral density, lumbar bone mineral mass, self-assessed knee pain, stiffness, and functional capacity change from the end of a 12-month exercise intervention to 24-month follow-up. Moreover, the subjects' exercise activity was measured using an exercise diary and participation in an exercise group. \n\nThe exercise study included 80 postmenopausal women with mild knee osteoarthritis. The training group performed aerobics and step aerobics training with high-impact three times a week for 12 months. The control group continued its previous exercise behaviour. Initial measurements (0 months), final measurements (12 months) and follow-up measurements after 12 months of follow-up (24 months) were performed on the subjects. In this follow-up study, differences between groups were compared by T-test of independent samples. In the comparison of the differences between the groups in the final measurement (12 months) and the follow-up measurement (24 months), the analysis of variance of repeated measurements was used, in which the final measurement (12 months) served as a covariate. In addition, from the results of the training and control groups, the difference change variables were calculated by T-test of two independent samples by subtracting the follow up value (24 months) from the final value (12 months) and comparing their means with each other.\n\nAccording to the final measurements of the of the original intervention study (12 months), one year of regular exercise training increased the bone mineral mass of the femoral neck by 0.6% in the exercise group, while it decreased it by 1.2% in the control group. In this study, it was found that the results obtained with the exercise intervention decreased significantly in the follow-up during one year. Bone mineral density and mass of the right femoral neck decreased more in the exercise than in the control group. The difference between the end of the intervention (12 months) and the end of the follow-up period (24 months) between the training and control groups was significant (p = 0.01). Based on the results of a follow-up study, it appears that the effects of a 12-month exercise intervention on the increased mineral mass in the femoral neck are not permanent.
