Mittauksilla voidaan selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, onko hengityslihasten voimantuotto heikentynyt, jonka taustalla voivat olla erilaiset neurologiset sairaudet tai hengityselimist\u00f6n sairaudet. Hengityslihasten voimantuoton mittaaminen voi olla osa sairauden diagnosointia ja sit\u00e4 voidaan hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 kuntoutuksen tai hengityslihasten harjoittelun seurannassa.\n\nWellO2-RHM-suukappale on uudenlainen mittalaite hengityslihasten voimantuoton mittaamiseen, joka toimii yhdess\u00e4 WellO2-hengitysharjoituslaitteen kanssa ja jota k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n WellO2-mobiilisovelluksen kautta. WellO2-RHM-suukappale on tulossa kuluttajamarkkinoille vuonna 2022. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tarkoitus oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 WellO2-RHM-suukappaleella mitatun sis\u00e4\u00e4nhengityslihasten (MIP, maximum inspiratory pressure) ja uloshengityslihasten (MEP, maximum expiratory pressure) voimantuoton yhteytt\u00e4 MicroRPM-mittarilla mitattuun sis\u00e4\u00e4n- ja uloshengityslihasten voimantuottoon sek\u00e4 spirometrilla mitattuihin hengitysmuuttujiin sek\u00e4 selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 WellO2-RHM-suukappaleella suoritettujen mittausten toistettavuutta.\n\nVapaaehtoiset terveet tutkittavat (n=26, 15 miest\u00e4, 11 naista) suorittivat hengityslihasten voimantuoton mittaukset WellO2-RHM-suukappaleella ja MicroRPM-mittarilla sek\u00e4 hengitysmuuttujien mittaukset Vyntus ONE Pulmonary Function System -spirometrilla. Tutkittavilta mitattiin hengityslihasten voimantuottoa WellO2-RHM-suukappaleella kahdessa ajankohdassa viikon v\u00e4lein suoritettavilla toistomittauksilla, joihin osallistui 24 tutkittavaa (14 miest\u00e4, 10 naista).\n\nWellO2-RHM-suukappaleella ja MicroRPM-mittarilla suoritettujen sis\u00e4\u00e4n- ja uloshengityslihasten voimantuoton mittausten v\u00e4lill\u00e4 oli havaittavissa voimakas yhteys (MIP r=0.840, p<0.001, MEP r=0.849, p<0.001). Sek\u00e4 sis\u00e4\u00e4n- ett\u00e4 uloshengityslihasten voimantuotto oli kohtalaisen voimakkaasti yhteydess\u00e4 useisiin hengitysmuuttujiin (r=0.438-0.713, p=0.025-0.001). Toistettavuus vaihteli kohtalaisen ja erinomaisen v\u00e4lill\u00e4, variaatiokertoimen (CV, Coefficient of variation), ICC-arvon (Intraclass Correlation Coefficient) ja mittauksen keskivirheen (SEM, standard error of measurement) ollessa MIP- mittauksissa 10,0 %, 0.840, p<0.001 ja 7 cmH2O sek\u00e4 MEP-mittauksissa 9,1 %, 0.849, p<0.001 ja 12 cmH2O, t\u00e4ss\u00e4 j\u00e4rjestyksess\u00e4.\n\nWellO2-RHM-suukappale vaikuttaisi olevan toimiva ty\u00f6kalu hengityslihasten maksimaalisen voimantuoton mittaamiseen, ja sill\u00e4 suoritetut mittaukset ovat toistettavia terveill\u00e4 aktiiviliikkujilla. Measurements can be used to detect changes in function of respiratory muscles, which may be due to the neurological or respiratory diseases. Measurements of respiratory pressures can be used to diagnose diseases and to evaluate effectiveness of respiratory rehabilitation and respiratory muscle training.\n\nWellO2-RHM-device is a novel measuring unit operated by mobile application for WellO2 respiratory training device. WellO2-RHM is aimed to enter the consumer market in early 2022. The aim of this study was to compare WellO2-RHM-device and MicroRPM-device for measurement of maximum inspiratory pressure (MIP) and maximum expiratory pressure (MEP) and investigate the correlation between measurements of WellO2-RHM-device and lung function and to assess the test/retest reliability of the WellO2-RHM-device.\n\nHealthy normal volunteers (n=26, 15 males, 11 females) performed MIP and MEP measurements with the WellO2-RHM and MicroRPM devices in addition to lung function tests with Vyntus ONE Pulmonary Function System. MIP and MEP measurements with the WellO2-RHM-device were repeated twice with one week between measurement (n=24, 14 males, 10 females).\n\nMIP and MEP results between the WellO2-RHM and MicroRPM devices correlated significantly (MIP r=0.840, p<0.001, MEP r=0.849, p<0.001). Correlation between MIP and MEP measurements of WellO2-RHM-device and the lung function parameters were moderate (r=0.438-0.713, p=0.025-0.001). Reliability of WellO2-RHM-device was between fair and excellent, as Coefficient of variation (CV), Intraclass Correlation Coefficient-values (ICC) and Standard error of measurement (SEM) for MIP and MEP were CV 10.0%, ICC 0.825, p<0.001, 7 cmH2O and CV 9.1%, ICC 0.895, p<0.001, 12 cmH2O, respectively.\n\nWellO2-RHM-device seems to be useful tool in assessing of maximal respiratory pressures, and WellO2-RHM measurements are reliable for healthy normal volunteers.
