Virtuaalitodellisuus on olemukseltaan kolmiulotteinen, moniaistinen ja vuorovaikutteinen, jolloin k\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4n kokemus on kuin t\u00e4m\u00e4 olisi ja toimisi kyseisess\u00e4 keinotekoisessa ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6ss\u00e4. Viimevuosina kuluttajak\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n suunnatut virtuaalitodellisuuslasit ovat yleistyneet, joka on kasvattanut niiden saatavuutta my\u00f6s opetusk\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4. Samalla eri tieteenaloilla on alettu tutkimaan virtuaalitodellisuuden soveltamista entist\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n. Virtuaalitodellisuuden tutkimus onkin lis\u00e4\u00e4ntynyt viimevuosina esimerkiksi tekniikan, psykologian ja opetuksen saralla. \nT\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkielmassa k\u00e4sittelen virtuaalitodellisuuden hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4mist\u00e4 lasten, nuorten ja korkeakouluopiskelijoiden opetuksessa. Tutkielma on tuotettu kirjallisuuskatsauksena, jossa tarkastellaan millaisia hy\u00f6tyj\u00e4, haittoja ja mahdollisuuksia virtuaalitodellisuuden hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4misess\u00e4 opetuksessa on. Tutkielmassa keskityn virtuaalitodellisuusteknologioista erityisesti virtuaalitodellisuuslaseihin mutta k\u00e4yn l\u00e4pi my\u00f6s esimerkiksi projektorilla muodostettua virtuaaliymp\u00e4rist\u00f6\u00e4 tukena liikunnan opetuksessa. Tutkielmassa tarkastellaan ja m\u00e4\u00e4ritet\u00e4\u00e4n virtuaalitodellisuutta teknologian\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta samalla pohjustaen aihetta sen soveltamiseen opetusk\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n. Opetusta tarkastellaan tutkielmassa erilaisten oppimisteorioiden avulla ja avataan virtuaalitodellisuuden soveltuvuutta n\u00e4iden oppimisteorioiden malleihin. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkielmassa k\u00e4y ilmi, ett\u00e4 virtuaalitodellisuuden hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4misess\u00e4 opetusk\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4 on selke\u00e4\u00e4 hy\u00f6ty\u00e4 oppimisen kannalta, mutta se sis\u00e4lt\u00e4\u00e4 my\u00f6s rajoitteita ja ongelmia. Erityisesti nuorten, alle teini-ik\u00e4isten lasten opetuksessa virtuaalilasien k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4 tulisi v\u00e4ltt\u00e4\u00e4 muun muassa osittain kehittym\u00e4tt\u00f6m\u00e4n yl\u00e4vartalon ja p\u00e4\u00e4n motoriikan takia. Virtual reality is three-dimensional, multi-sensory, and interactive so that the user experience is as if it were and would work in that artificial environment. In recent years, consumer-oriented head-mounted displays have become more common, which has increased their availability for educational use as well. At the same time, many more disciplines have begun to explore the application of virtual reality much more. Research into virtual reality has increased in recent years in the fields of instructional technology, psychology, and teaching.\nIn this dissertation, I discuss the use of virtual reality in the teaching of children, young people, and school students. The dissertation has been produced as a literature review, which constantly presents the advantages, disadvantages, and possible possibilities of using virtual reality in teaching. In my dissertation, I focus on virtual reality technologies in head-mounted displays, but I also go through a projector-based virtual environment in support of physical education. The teaching of virtual reality technology is defined from the technological point of view while laying the groundwork for its application to teaching. Teaching in an extensive dissertation using a variety of learning theories and opening the applicability of virtual reality to the countries of these learning theories. This dissertation shows that there are clear benefits to learning in the use of virtual reality in teaching, but it also includes limitations and problems. In the teaching of young children under the age of adolescence the use of head-mounted displays should be avoided due to the undeveloped upper body and head coordination.
