Datan ja erityisesti massadatan m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4 kasvaa vuosi vuodelta ja se tarjoaakin verkkokaupoille mahdollisuuksia hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 sit\u00e4 monilla eri tavoin. Massadatan kasvun ohella my\u00f6s verkkokauppojen suosio on kasvanut ja kilpailu on koventunut. Asiakkaat ovat my\u00f6s entist\u00e4 tarkempia verkkokauppaa valitessa. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkielmassa syvennyt\u00e4\u00e4nkin siihen millaisia mahdollisuuksia massadata ja massadata-analytiikka tarjoaa verkkokaupoille ja kuinka niiden avulla voidaan kasvattaa liiketoimintaa. Ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 m\u00e4\u00e4ritell\u00e4\u00e4n termit massadata, massadata-analytiikka ja verkkokauppa, jonka j\u00e4lkeen vastataan tutkimuksessa esitettyihin tutkimuskysymyksiin \u201dKuinka massadataa ja massadata-analytiikkaa voidaan hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 verkkokaupoissa?\u201d ja \u201dMit\u00e4 hy\u00f6ty\u00e4 massadatan ja massadata-analytiikan k\u00e4ytt\u00e4minen tarjoaa verkkokaupoille?\u201d. Tutkielman keskeinen tulos on, ett\u00e4 massadatan ja massadata-analyysin tarjoamat mahdollisuudet ulottuvat monelle osa-alueelle, jotka jaetaan t\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkielmassa kuuteen osa-alueeseen: personointiin, dynaamiseen hinnoitteluun, asiakaspalveluun, toimitusketjuun, turvallisuuteen ja ennustaviin analyytikoihin. The amount of data and big data is growing year by year and that offers e-commerce the opportunity to take advantage of it in many different aspects. At the same time with the big data growing, the popularity of online shopping has also increased, and competition has intensified. Customers are also more specific when choosing an online store. This Bachelor\u2019s thesis delves into the opportunities of big data and big data analytics offer for e-commerce and how those things can be used to make a growth in business. This work defines the terms big data, big data analytics and e-commerce. After that the research questions \u201cHow can big data and big data analytics be utilized in e-commerce?\u201d and \u201cWhat are the key benefits of using big data and big data analytics in e-commerce?\u201d are answered. The key findings of the thesis are that the possibilities offered by big data and big data analysis extend to many areas, which in this work are divided into six areas: personalization, dynamic pricing, customer service, supply chain, security, and predictive analysis.
