Liikunnallista tukea\ntarkasteltiin vanhempien, kavereiden ja liikunnanopettajan tuen osalta. Fyysinen aktiivisuus\nn\u00e4htiin t\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa lasta reippaasti tai raskaasti kuormittavana liikunnan muotona, joka\nei kuitenkaan rajoitu liikunnan harrastamiseen esimerkiksi seurassa.\nTutkimuksen aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin osana Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopiston Liikuntatieteellisen tiedekunnan\nLiikkuva perhe \u2013hanketta vuosina 2018\u20132020. Aineistoa ker\u00e4ttiin 97:st\u00e4 eri koulusta ymp\u00e4ri\nSuomen kolmella erilaisella liikunnallista tukea mittaavalla kyselylomakkeella sek\u00e4 fyysist\u00e4\naktiivisuutta mittaavalla kiihtyvyysmittarilla. Hankkeeseen osallistui yhteens\u00e4 666 1.\u20134.-\nluokkalaista lasta vanhempineen, joista 554:lt\u00e4 l\u00f6ytyi tarvittavat tiedot t\u00e4t\u00e4 tutkimusta varten.\nTutkimuksen kohdejoukosta 294 oli tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 ja 260 poikia. Tutkimusaineiston analysoinnissa\nk\u00e4ytettiin IBM SPSS Statistics 26 \u2013ohjelmaa. Aineiston kuvailevissa osioissa k\u00e4ytettiin\nkohdejoukon lukum\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4\u00e4 (N), minimiarvoa (min), maksimiarvoa (max), keskiarvoa (ka),\nkeskihajontaa (kh) ja prosenttiosuuksia (%). Aineistoa analysoitiin k\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4\nriippumattomien otosten t-testi\u00e4, Pearsonin tulomomenttikorrelaatiokerrointa ja hierarkkista\nlineaarista regressioanalyysi\u00e4.\nTutkimuksen tulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 kavereiden liikunnallinen tuki oli tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4\ntekij\u00e4 lasten objektiivisesti mitatulle fyysiselle aktiivisuudelle. Sukupuolten v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 tuloksia\ntarkastelemalla havaittiin, ett\u00e4 pojat kokivat saavansa kavereilta enemm\u00e4n tukea kuin tyt\u00f6t.\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n lis\u00e4ksi ik\u00e4 ja sukupuoli selittiv\u00e4t lasten fyysist\u00e4 aktiivisuutta ja sen muutoksia\nkohdejoukossa. Nuoremmat lapset liikkuivat enemm\u00e4n kuin vanhemmat lapset ja fyysinen\naktiivisuus laski asteittain nuorimmasta ik\u00e4luokasta vanhimpaan. Pojat liikkuivat tutkimuksen\nmukaan hieman enemm\u00e4n kuin tyt\u00f6t.\nKoului\u00e4n saavuttaneiden lasten fyysisen aktiivisuuden vuosittaisen laskun v\u00e4hent\u00e4miseksi tulisi\nottaa huomioon lasten kaveripiirien vaikutus fyysiselle aktiivisuudelle. In this study, social support was\nexamined through the support received from child\u2019s parents, friends, or P.E. teacher. Physical\nactivity was defined as any moderate to vigorous intensity motion child engaged in during a\ntypical week.\nData for this study was collected during the years 2018-2020 as a part of a project called Active\nFamily. This project was planned and administered by the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences\nat the University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4. The data was collected from 97 different schools around Finland\nby using three separate kinds of questionnaires and accelerometers. Altogether, there were 666\nchildren participating from grades one to four with their parents. Of these 666 participants, 554\nhad the required information for the study. Final sample consisted of 294 girls and 260 boys.\nTo analyze the study data IBM SPSS Statistics 26 \u2013program was used. To describe the results,\nwe used number of cases (N), minimum value (min), maximum value (max), mean (m),\nstandard deviation (sd) and percental shares (%). The body of data was analyzed with\nindependent samples T-test, Pearson\u2019s product-moment correlation coefficient (PPMCC) and\nhierarchical linear regression analysis.\nThe results of this study showed that social support from friends was statistically significantly\nassociated with the objectively measured physical activity in the children. The results also\nshowed that boys experienced more support from their friends than girls did to a certain extent.\nAdditionally, background factors such as age and gender explained the differences and changes\nin the physical activity in children. Younger children were more active compared to older ones\nand it was found that there is a systematic decline in the physical activity levels each year as a\nchild got older. According to this study boys are physically a bit more active than girls on\naverage.\nIn order to diminish the phenomenon of declining physical activity at the ages 6-11 there should\nbe an acknowledgeable link between the friendships and children\u2019s physical activity levels. In\nthe future research it is important to examine friendships more specifically to understand the\neffects of physical activity.
