Sisäinen motivaatio ennustaa vahvasti kuinka itseohjautuvaa oppilaan opiskelu on ja teknologioiden käytön lisääntyminen vaatii oppilailta entistä enemmän itseohjautuvuutta. Tämä voi vaikuttaa erityisesti heikomman sisäisen motivaation omaaviin oppilaisiin. Tutkimuksen avulla selvitetään minkälaisia haittoja ja hyötyjä informaatioteknologia opetuksessa tuottaa oppilaille sisäisen motivaation näkökulmasta. Goal of the research is to find out the relations between intrinsic motivation and use of information technology in teaching. In a digitalising society the meaning of education is more and more important. Goal of the study is to see how information technology affects the motivation of students in a school context. New technologies require more self-direction from students, which is heavily guided by intrinsic motivation. This can cause problems for students who are not doing well in school. Research will study the pros and cons using information technology in education from the point of view of intrinsic motivation.
