Kokeellisessa osassa keskityt\u00e4\u00e4n germaniumin talteenottoon hienosta komponenttimurskasta ioninvaihtomateriaalien avulla hydrometallurgisin menetelmin. Komponenttij\u00e4te liuotettiin typpihapon (HNO3) ja fluorivetyhapon (HF) yhdistelm\u00e4ll\u00e4. \nAlkuaineiden pitoisuudet tutkituissa n\u00e4ytteiss\u00e4 m\u00e4\u00e4ritettiin induktiivisesti kytketyn plasman optisella emissiospektrometrilla (ICP-OES). Germaniumin talteenottoasteeksi saatiin yli 99 % DEAM-ioninvaihtomateriaalilla suotuisilla muuttujilla. Samalla kuitenkin moni muu alkuaine kiinnittyi ioninvaihtomateriaalin pintaan, joka ei ollut optimaalista. T\u00e4m\u00e4 oli kuitenkin t\u00e4ysin oletettavaa, sill\u00e4 monia muita aineita (esimerkiksi kuparia, rautaa ja hopeaa) oli tutkitussa komponenttijauheessa todella paljon enemm\u00e4n kuin germaniumia.
