Tutkielmassa selvitettiin ovatko motoriset perustaidot yhteydess\u00e4 matematiikan oppimistuloksiin perusopetuksen kolmasluokkalaisilla. Erityisesti tarkastelun kohteena olivat motoristen perustaitojen ja sen osa-alueiden; liikkumis-, v\u00e4lineenk\u00e4sittely- ja tasapainotaitojen, yhteydet matematiikan oppimistuloksiin. Tutkimus on osa laajempaa LIKES:n Liikkuvaa matikkaa -tutkimusta.\nTutkielman aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin syksyll\u00e4 2019 kolmestatoista keskisuomalaisesta koulusta, joista tutkimukseen osallistui 384 oppilasta (tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 50 %). Motorisia perustaitoja mitattiin KTK-, MABC-2- ja Eurofit-mittareilla. Matematiikan osaamista mitattiin FUNA-testist\u00f6ll\u00e4. Aineiston analysoinnissa luotiin nelj\u00e4 summamuuttujaa motorisille perustaidoille ja yksi matematiikan osaamiselle. Yhteyksi\u00e4 tarkasteltiin Pearsonin korrelaatiokertoimen ja lineaariseen regressioanalyysin avulla, joissa vakioivia tekij\u00f6it\u00e4 olivat oppilaan sukupuoli, sukupuolen ja motoristen perustaitojen tai sen osa-alueen yhdysvaikutusmuuttuja, viivajuoksu, kehon rasvaprosentti ja \u00e4idin koulutus.\nMatematiikan oppimistuloksiin positiivisessa yhteydess\u00e4 olivat motoriset perustaidot sek\u00e4 sen osa-alueista liikkumis- ja v\u00e4lineenk\u00e4sittelytaidot. Mit\u00e4 parempia n\u00e4m\u00e4 taidot olivat, sit\u00e4 parempia olivat matematiikan oppimistulokset. Motoriset perustaidot selittiv\u00e4t 8,2 prosenttia, liikkumistaidot 12,2 prosenttia ja v\u00e4lineenk\u00e4sittelytaidot 7,3 prosenttia matematiikan oppimistulosten vaihtelusta. Tyt\u00f6t olivat poikia parempia tasapainotaidoissa ja pojat v\u00e4lineenk\u00e4sittelyss\u00e4 sek\u00e4 vauhdittomassa pituudessa. Hyv\u00e4t motoriset perustaidot voivat tukea oppilaan matemaattista osaamista, joten matematiikan ja motoristen perustaitojen yht\u00e4aikaista opetusta voidaan suositella. The association between fundamental motor skills and academic achievement are far less studied. The study investigates whether fundamental movement skills are associated with mathematics learning outcomes. More specifically the study examined locomotor skills, manipulative skills and stabilizing skills, and their connections to mathematics learning outcomes in 3rd graders. This study is part of a major research by LIKES.\nThe study was executed in Central Finland in autumn 2019 including 13 schools and 384 students who participated in the research (50 percent girls). Fundamental movement skills were measured with KTK, MABC-2 and Eurofit. Mathematics learning outcomes were measured by FUNA. Four sum variables were made for fundamental movement skills and one for mathematics. Data was analyzed by Pearson\u2019s correlation coefficient and linear regression. Covarients in the linear regression models were students\u2019 sex, interaction variable (sex and fundamental movement skill or specific skill), students\u2019 result from the shuttle run, body fat percentage and mother\u2019s education.\nFundamental movement skills, locomotor skills and manipulative skills were associated with mathematics learning outcomes. The better the fundamental movement, locomotor or manipulative skills were, the better were the results in mathematics. Fundamental movement skills explained 8,2 percent, locomotor skills 12,2 percent and manipulative skills 7,3 percent of the variation of the mathematics learning outcomes. Girls were better than boys in all stabilizing skills and boys were better in manipulative skills and standing broad jump. Good fundamental motor skills can support students\u2019 mathematics learning.
