Oppilaiden fyysist\u00e4 aktiivisuutta voidaan edist\u00e4\u00e4 koulun liikunnallisen toimintakulttuurin ja erilaisten toimenpiteiden avulla. Yksi vaihtoehto koulup\u00e4iv\u00e4n liikunnallistamisessa on integroida liikkumista osaksi eri oppiaineiden oppitunteja.\n\nTutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 aineenopettajaopiskelijoiden n\u00e4kemyksi\u00e4 koulup\u00e4iv\u00e4n ja oppituntien liikunnallistamisesta. Tutkimus oli luonteeltaan kvalitatiivinen. Siin\u00e4 pyrittiin k\u00e4sitteellist\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n ja kuvailemaan aineenopettajaopiskelijoiden k\u00e4sityksi\u00e4 fyysisesti aktiivisesta koulusta sek\u00e4 miten t\u00e4m\u00e4 on huomioitu heid\u00e4n yliopistokoulutuksessaan. Tutkimuksessa haastateltiin seitsem\u00e4\u00e4 Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopiston aineenopettajaopiskelijaa. Haastattelut analysoitiin laadullisen sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysin avulla. Analyysiss\u00e4 hy\u00f6dynnettiin aineistol\u00e4ht\u00f6ist\u00e4 ja teoriaohjaavaa sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysia.\n\nAineenopettajaopiskelijat kokivat, ett\u00e4 koulup\u00e4iv\u00e4\u00e4 voitaisiin liikunnallistaa teemap\u00e4ivien ja tapahtumien, v\u00e4lineiden ja hankintojen sek\u00e4 oppituntien aikaisen istumisen v\u00e4hent\u00e4misen avulla. He n\u00e4kiv\u00e4t, ett\u00e4 opetusta voitaisiin liikunnallistaa erityisesti tauottamalla istumista, mutta my\u00f6s muokkaamalla oppimisymp\u00e4rist\u00f6\u00e4 ja toteuttamalla liikett\u00e4 ja oppimista samanaikaisesti. Oppituntien aikaisen fyysisen aktiivisuuden eduiksi mainittiin esimerkiksi oppilaiden keskittymisen ja vireyden lis\u00e4\u00e4ntyminen. Haasteiksi koettiin suunnittelun vaikeus ja oppilaiden levottomuus. Vastuu oppilaiden fyysisest\u00e4 aktiivisuudesta n\u00e4htiin olevan kaikilla aikuisilla, mutta erityisesti liikunnanopettajilla. Koulup\u00e4iv\u00e4n liikunnallistamista oli k\u00e4sitelty haastateltavien aineenopettajakoulutuksessa joko eritt\u00e4in v\u00e4h\u00e4n tai ei lainkaan.\n\nOppilaiden fyysisen aktiivisuuden edist\u00e4misess\u00e4 on kiinnitett\u00e4v\u00e4 huomiota siihen, miten kouluymp\u00e4rist\u00f6ss\u00e4 voitaisiin v\u00e4hent\u00e4\u00e4 passiivista aikaa ja lis\u00e4t\u00e4 liikkumista. There is also evidence that physical activity in learners is associated with the learning process. The physical activity of pupils can be promoted through a physically active school culture as well as with a range of methods. One option for making the school day more physical is to integrate physical activity into lessons in different subjects.\n\nThe aim of this study was to find out what student teachers think about integrating physical activity to their school days and lessons. The study was qualitative in nature. It aimed to conceptualise and describe the student teachers' perceptions of what a physically active school is like and how this has been taken into account in their university education. The study involved interviews with seven subject teacher students at the University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4. The interviews were analysed using qualitative content analysis.\n\nThe student teachers felt that physical activity could be integrated into school day especially through the use of theme days and events, equipment and supplies, and by decreasing sedentary time during lessons. They saw that lessons could be made more physically active in particular by taking breaks from sitting, but also by modifying the environment and implementing movement and learning at the same time. The increased concentration and alertness of pupils was considered the most significant benefits of implementing physicalactivity to lessons. The difficulty of planning physically active lessons and the restlessness of pupils were seen as challenges. The responsibility for physical activity of pupils was seen to lie with all adults, but particularly with the PE teacher. The issue of physical activity during the school day was either very little or not mentioned at all in the training of the subject teachers interviewed.\n\nIn promoting physical activity among pupils, attention needs to be paid to how to reduce passive time and increase physical activity. Physical activity in schools is a matter for the whole school.
