T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa tietoisuustaidot m\u00e4\u00e4riteltiin sis\u00e4lt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n nykyhetkess\u00e4 l\u00e4sn\u00e4 olemisen, omien ajatusten ja tunteiden seuraamisen, hyv\u00e4ksyv\u00e4n asenteen tapahtumia ja el\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4 kohtaan sek\u00e4 avoimen suhtautumisen maailmaan.\nTutkimusaineiston keruu toteutettiin haastattelujen muodossa, jotka nauhoitettiin ja litteroitiin. Litteroitua teksti\u00e4 tuli 54 sivua, fonttikoolla 11 ja riviv\u00e4lill\u00e4 1. Tutkimukseen haastateltiin kahdeksaa henkil\u00f6\u00e4. Yksi haastatteluista oli pilottihaastattelu, joka sis\u00e4llytettiin tutkimukseen. Tutkimushenkil\u00f6t olivat kaikki koulutukseltaan liikunnanopettajia, jotka olivat toimineet liikunnanopettajan ammatissa v\u00e4hint\u00e4\u00e4n kaksi vuotta. Kaksi ensimm\u00e4ist\u00e4 opettajaa ehdittiin haastatella paikan p\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 ja sen j\u00e4lkeen Korona \u2013pandemista johtuen loput kuusi opettajaa haastateltiin ZOOM-yhteydell\u00e4. Henkil\u00f6t osallistuivat haastatteluun vapaaehtoisesti ja he antoivat luvan k\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 haastatteluaan tutkimuksen aineistona. Aineiston analysoinnissa pyrittiin l\u00f6yt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n vuoropuhelua aineiston ja teorian v\u00e4lill\u00e4. Analyysi toteutettiin sis\u00e4lt\u00f6analyysina, fenomenografiaa ja hermeneutiikkaa mukaillen. Opettajien haastatteluissa esille nousseista asioista pyrittiin l\u00f6yt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n samankaltaisuuksia ja eroavaisuuksia sek\u00e4 tulkitsemaan heid\u00e4n n\u00e4kemyksi\u00e4\u00e4n tietoisuustaidoista tai sen osa-alueista.\nTulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 niiden opettajien, jotka eiv\u00e4t harjoittaneet tietoisuustaitoja, puheessa oli n\u00e4kyvill\u00e4 samanlaisia tietoisuustaitojen piirteit\u00e4, kuin niiden jotka harjoittivat. Ainoa selke\u00e4 ero kahden ryhm\u00e4n v\u00e4lill\u00e4 oli, ett\u00e4 tietoisuustaitoja harjoittavat pyrkiv\u00e4t meditoimaan ja/tai tekem\u00e4\u00e4n hengitysharjoituksia. Niiden tietoinen hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4minen puuttui muilta opettajilta. Toisessa tutkimuskysymyksess\u00e4 pyrittiin analysoimaan, miten opettaja koki tietoisuustaitojen harjoittamisen auttavan opetuksessa ja oppilaiden kohtaamisessa. Keskeisiksi auttaviksi taidoiksi nousivat armollisuus itse\u00e4 ja oppilaita kohtaan, tunnetaidot, ajattelun taidot sek\u00e4 tietoisuustaitojen hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4minen opetuksen sis\u00e4ll\u00f6iss\u00e4. Kolmannessa tutkimuskysymyksess\u00e4 etsittiin niit\u00e4 merkityksi\u00e4, joita opettajat tietoisuustaidoille antoivat suhteessa omaan el\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4ns\u00e4. Opettajat n\u00e4kiv\u00e4t tietoisuustaidot erityisesti hyvinvoinnin tukena ja apuna ty\u00f6ss\u00e4. Tietoisuustaidot ilmeniv\u00e4t opettajille tekojen kautta. K\u00e4sitykset tietoisuustaidoista olivat vaihtelevia.\nJatkossa olisi t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4 selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, voitaisiinko tietoisuustaitojen avulla v\u00e4hent\u00e4\u00e4 ja ennaltaehk\u00e4ist\u00e4 uupumusta sek\u00e4 lis\u00e4t\u00e4 opettajien hyvinvointia. In this study the term mindfulness was defined by being aware in the present moment, following your own thoughts and feelings, being nonjudgmental towards events of life and open minded attitude towards the world.\nThe research data for this study consisted of interviews, which were recorded and then transcribed. The transcribed text was 54 pages long, with font size of 11 and line spacing of 1. For this study eight teachers were interviewed. One of those interviews was a pilot interview, which is also included in the study. All of the participants were educated physical education teachers (Master\u2019s degree) and they had been working as physical education teachers for at least two years. First two interviews were executed in person and the last six interviews were conducted through a ZOOM connection, because of the covid-19 pandemic. All of the participants were volunteers and gave their permission to use their interviews for this study. The analyzing of the research data was done using the method of content analysis, based on the hermeneutic circle and phenomenographic approach. The aim of analyzing the text was to find similarities and differences between the teachers and to interpret the meanings they give to mindfulness skills or the parts that belong under those skills.\nThere were signs of the mindfulness skills in all of the teachers' speeches, even the ones who didn't practice the skills on purpose did possess those kinds of actions and habits. Main difference was that the teachers, who practiced mindfulness skills, did meditation and/or breathing exercises. The aim of the second research question was to find out if the teachers felt that mindfulness, or actions and habits connected to mindfulness, were helping them in their profession of teaching and with interacting with their students. The crucial skills that seemed to help them were a compassionate attitude towards themselves and their students, emotional skills, metacognitive skills and the skill of using mindfulness as content in their classes. The third question was about finding the meanings that teachers give to mindfulness skills with respect to their life. Teachers saw mindfulness skills as an aid which supports wellbeing and as a tool at their work. The mindfulness skills were manifested by concrete acts and the comprehension of mindfulness was varying between the teachers.\nIn the future it would be necessary to research if mindfulness skills could be a way to decrease and prevent exhaustion of teachers. And also if those skills would increase the wellbeing of teachers.
