Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin, millaisia ajatuksia oppilailla on kouluruokailuun liittyen. Lis\u00e4ksi vastauksia haettiin siihen, millaisin toimin kouluruokailua voitaisiin oppilaiden n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta kehitt\u00e4\u00e4. Tutkimuksen keski\u00f6ss\u00e4 oli saada k\u00e4sitys siit\u00e4 millaiset muut asiat, kuin itse tarjoiltava tuote, vaikuttavat oppilaiden kouluruokailukokemuksiin. \n Tutkimus toteutettiin kvalitatiivisen tutkimusotteen mukaisesti ja tutkimuksen l\u00e4hestymistapa oli fenomenologis-hermeneuttinen. Tutkimukseen osallistui 69 alakoulun 5\u20136. luokkalaista, kahdesta eri Keski-Suomalaisesta koulusta. Tutkimusaineisto ker\u00e4ttiin oppilaiden vapaamuotoisina kirjoitelmina sek\u00e4 erillisin\u00e4 kyselylomakkeina kahdessa osassa. Aineiston keruu suoritettiin kev\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 2019. Aineiston analyysimenetelm\u00e4n\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin aineistol\u00e4ht\u00f6ist\u00e4 sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysi\u00e4. \n Tulosten mukaan kouluruokailuun sis\u00e4ltyy monia tekij\u00f6it\u00e4, jotka osaltaan vaikuttavat oppilaiden kouluruokailukokemuksiin. Erityisesti toiset oppilaat, henkil\u00f6kunta ja ruokailutilat vaikuttivat oppilaiden kokemuksiin.
