Lis\u00e4ksi selvitettiin, onko opettajan k\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4n ohjaustyylin yhteys lukemisen ja kirjoittamisen motivaatioon ja oppijamin\u00e4kuvaan erilainen tyt\u00f6ill\u00e4 ja pojilla.\n\nTutkimus oli osa Teacher and Student Stress and Interaction in Classroom (TESSI) -hanketta. Tutkimukseen osallistui 54 luokanopettajaa ja 886 ensimm\u00e4isen luokan oppilasta. Opettajien k\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4 ohjaustyyli\u00e4 selvitettiin videoimalla oppitunteja ja arvioimalla videonauhoituksia Early Childhood Classroom Observation Measure (ECCOM) -havainnointimenetelm\u00e4n avulla. Motivaatiota ja oppijamin\u00e4kuvaa selvitettiin oppilaiden itsearviointien avulla. Ohjaustyylien ja lukemisen ja kirjoittamisen motivaation ja oppijamin\u00e4kuvan v\u00e4list\u00e4 yhteytt\u00e4 selvitettiin korrelaatiokertoimilla ja Kruskall-Wallisin testill\u00e4. \n\nLapsil\u00e4ht\u00f6inen ohjaustyyli oli yhteydess\u00e4 keskim\u00e4\u00e4rin parempaan oppijamin\u00e4kuvaan kuin opettajajohtoinen ohjaustyyli. Sen sijaan keskim\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4ist\u00e4 runsaampi lapsil\u00e4ht\u00f6isyys oli yhteydess\u00e4 oppilaiden heikompaan lukemisen ja kirjoittamisen motivaatioon. Poikien oppijamin\u00e4kuvaa tuki parhaiten lapsil\u00e4ht\u00f6inen ohjaustyyli ja lukemisen ja kirjoittamisen motivaatiota keskim\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4isesti k\u00e4ytetty opettajajohtoinen ja lapsil\u00e4ht\u00f6inen ohjaustyyli. Tutkimus antoi viitteit\u00e4 siit\u00e4, ett\u00e4 ohjaustyylill\u00e4 on merkityst\u00e4 oppilaan motivaation ja min\u00e4kuvan kannalta.
