Tämä on mahdollista suuren laskentatehon HPC, (high performance computing) myötä ja tällä säästetään alkuinvestointien jälkeen sekä aikaa että rahaa konkreettisella tasolla. Tutkielma on kirjallisuuskatsaus, jonka tavoitteena on käydä lävitse historiallisesti tietokoneiden laskentatehon tarvetta ja sovellusalueita. Myös teknisiä ratkaisuja on katselmoitu. Katsauksessa tutustutaan nykyisiin supertietokoneisiin, niiden käyttöön ja tarpeeseen, sekä käydään läpi tämänhetkistä tietoa kvanttitietokoneista ja niiden kehityksestä. Lopuksi tutkitaan mallintamisen ja simuloimisen mahdollisuuksia konkreettisin esimerkein. Simulation is nowadays the way to get information before real implementation. Value of the futures implementation and presume is the idea. Many genres of science like medical science, space investigation and weather forecasting need a computation capacity. This is possible now because of the high-performance computing (HPC) that saves time and money because theoretic level models can be tested before real life implementations. Aim of this report is to go through the need of the HPC to present supporting technology including quantum computers. There are lot of articles and information about supercomputers and quantum computers but the applications of those are mentioned rarely. This report composes supercomputers, need of them and an underlying technology behind high-performance computing.
