Vaikka kiertotalous tarjoaa mahdollisuuden luoda liikearvoa luonnon ekosysteemien koskemattomuutta vaarantamatta, on globaali siirtym\u00e4 kiertotalouteen vasta alussa. Mikro, pienet ja keskisuuret yritykset (PK-yritykset) ovat ratkaisevassa osassa t\u00e4t\u00e4 siirtym\u00e4\u00e4, jonka seurauksena kiertotalouden mikrotason toimeenpano on saavuttanut viime vuosina kasvavaa mielenkiintoa tutkimuskohteena. Projektitason toimeenpano n\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 kuitenkin olevan jokseenkin huomiotta j\u00e4\u00e4nyt aihe nykyisess\u00e4 kirjallisuudessa.\n\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen p\u00e4\u00e4asiallinen tavoite on tutustua odotuksiin, joita suomalaisilla PK-yrityksill\u00e4 on kiertotalousprojektien toimeenpanoon liittyen. Lis\u00e4ksi t\u00e4m\u00e4 tutkimus pyrkii selvitt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n mink\u00e4laisia haasteita ja mahdollisuuksia kiertotalousprojektien toimeenpanolle n\u00e4hd\u00e4\u00e4n suomalaisissa PK-yrityksiss\u00e4. T\u00e4m\u00e4 tutkimus pyrkii tuottamaan tuloksia, jotka edesauttavat saavuttamaan holistisemman ymm\u00e4rryksen haasteista ja mahdollisuuksista,\njoita kiertotalousprojektien aikana voi ilmet\u00e4, sek\u00e4 selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 mit\u00e4 kiertotalousprojekteilta odotetaan. Tutkimus perehtyy aiheeseen kvalitatiivisen tutkimusmenetelm\u00e4n kautta, joka pohjautuu kahdeksaan puolistrukturoituun haastatteluun kuudesta eri yrityksest\u00e4.\n\nTulokset paljastivat moninaisia odotuksia, haasteita ja mahdollisuuksia liittyen kiertotalousprojektien toimeenpanoon suomalaisissa PK-yrityksiss\u00e4. Odotukset liittyiv\u00e4t p\u00e4\u00e4s\u00e4\u00e4nt\u00f6isesti taloudellisen ja aineettoman hy\u00f6dyn saavuttamiseen projektien kautta. Lis\u00e4ksi kiertotalousprojektien tavoittelun odotettiin olevan vaarantamatta yritysten p\u00e4ivitt\u00e4ist\u00e4 toimintaa. Tulokset osoittivat my\u00f6s ett\u00e4, ep\u00e4varmuus, ajan ja henkil\u00f6st\u00f6n puute,\nCOVID-19, sek\u00e4 ulkoinen rahoitus n\u00e4htiin haasteina. T\u00e4ten ne koettiin kiertotalousprojektien onnistunutta toimeenpanoa mahdollisesti hidastaviksi tekij\u00f6iksi. Toisaalta tulokset osoittavat my\u00f6s, ett\u00e4 k\u00e4sitys kiertotaloudesta ja sitoutuminen yhdess\u00e4 kiertotaloustiedon ja -koulutuksen kanssa n\u00e4htiin mahdollisuuksina. Despite the attention and potential in creating business value without compromising the integrity of natural ecosystems, the global CE transition is still\nat its early stages. Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in this transition. Consequently, the micro-level implementation of CE has gained an increasing research interest in recent years. However, the project nature of implementing CE at the micro-level seems to be somewhat overlooked in the current literature.\n\nThe primary objective of this thesis is to explore the expectations that Finnish MSMEs have for the implementation of CE projects. Also, the thesis aims to examine the perceived impediments and opportunities of implementing CE projects within Finnish MSMEs. By exploring this topic, the thesis intends to provide results that contribute to achieving a more holistic understanding of impediments and opportunities that may occur during CE projects and what is expected from the CE projects. The thesis explores the topic by conducting a qualitative study based on eight semi-structured interviews within six different companies.\n\nThe results discovered various expectations, impediments, and opportunities to implementing CE projects within Finnish MSMEs. The expectations were primarily related to gaining financial and non-tangible benefits through the projects. Also, pursuing CE projects was expected not to compromise the day-to-day operations of the companies. The results also indicated that uncertainty, lack of time and human resources, COVID-19, and external financing were seen as impediments. Thus, possibly hindering the successful implementation\nof CE projects. In contrast, the results also indicated that perception of CE and commitment, along with availability to CE-related information and training, were seen as opportunities.
