Teollisessa internetissä keskitytään esineiden internetin hyödyntämiseen teollisuuskäytössä, ja sen uskotaan parantavan muun muassa tuottavuutta, turvallisuutta ja taloudellisuutta teollisuuden yrityksissä. Tässä tutkielmassa käsitellään teollista internetiä ja sen hyödyntämiseen liittyviä sovelluksia, hyötyjä ja haasteita, ja lisäksi verrataan käsite-eroja teollisen internetin ja esineiden internetin välillä. Tutkimus on toteutettu kirjallisuuskatsauksena, ja lähteinä on käytetty pääosin vertaisarvioituja tieteellisiä verkkojulkaisuja ja eartikkeleita, joita on haettu JYKDOK- ja Google Scholar-tietokannoista. Tutkielman tuloksissa käsiteltiin teollisen internetin ja esineiden internetin välisiä näkemyseroja sekä esiteltiin teollisuussovelluksia, joissa teollista internetiä voidaan hyödyntää. Lisäksi tuloksissa esiteltiin teollisen internetin keskeisimpiä hyötyjä ja haasteita. The Internet of Things is seen as a promising next step in the development of the Internet, and it offers many new possibilities in a wide variety of applications. The Industrial Internet of Things focuses on using Internet of Things for industrial use and it is believed to improve productivity, security, and economy in industrial enterprises, for example. This thesis discusses the Industrial Internet of Things and the benefits, applications, and challenges associated with its utilization, and it also compares the conceptual differences between the Industrial Internet of Things and the Internet of Things. This thesis has been carried out as a literature review, and the sources used are mainly peer reviewed scientific online publications and e-articles, that are retrieved from the JYKDOK and Google Scholar databases. The results of this thesis dealt with the differences between the Industrial Internet of Things and Internet of Things and presented some industrial applications in which the Industrial Internet of Things can be utilized. In addition, the main benefits and challenges of the Industrial Internet of Things were presented.
