Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 opiskelijoiden k\u00e4sityksi\u00e4 hyv\u00e4st\u00e4 \u00e4\u00e4nt\u00e4misest\u00e4, hyv\u00e4n \u00e4\u00e4nt\u00e4misen tarpeesta eri tilanteissa, ja \u00e4\u00e4nt\u00e4misen roolista oppitunneilla, sek\u00e4 verrata n\u00e4it\u00e4 lukion opetussuunnitelman perusteiden kieltenopetukselle asettamiin puitteisiin.\nTutkimuksen materiaali ker\u00e4ttiin yksil\u00f6haastatteluilla pienelt\u00e4 testiryhm\u00e4lt\u00e4. Testiryhm\u00e4\u00e4n kuului viisi saksanopiskelijaa kolmesta eri lukiosta. Haastattelut litteroitiin ja vastaukset kategorisoitiin asiasis\u00e4lt\u00f6jen mukaan analyysia varten. Analyysi toteutettiin laadullisena sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysina fakta-, ei diskurssipohjaisesti, ja se perustui toistuvien ilmi\u00f6iden sek\u00e4 poikkeuksellisten ja odottamattomien huomioiden tarkasteluun haastateltavien vastauksissa.\nTutkimuksen tulokset osoittavat, ett\u00e4 opiskelijat arvostavat \u00e4\u00e4nt\u00e4mist\u00e4 osana kielitaitoa, eiv\u00e4tk\u00e4 toivo sen roolin opetuksessa ainakaan v\u00e4henev\u00e4n. T\u00e4rkeimpi\u00e4 ominaisuuksia \u00e4\u00e4nt\u00e4misess\u00e4 ovat ymm\u00e4rretyksi tuleminen ja puheen sujuvuus. Hyv\u00e4 \u00e4\u00e4nt\u00e4minen on erityisen t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4 virallisemmissa yhteyksiss\u00e4, joissa puhuminen tapahtuu paineen alla. Lukion opetussuunnitelman perusteet tukevat opiskelijoiden toiveita jossain m\u00e4\u00e4rin, erityisesti eurooppalaiseen viitekehykseen perustuvat kielitaidon kehityksen tavoitteet tukevat opiskelijoiden omia \u00e4\u00e4nt\u00e4mistavoitteita. Opiskelijat toivovat muun muassa lis\u00e4\u00e4 \u00e4\u00e4nt\u00e4misen ja suullisen kielitaidon arviointia, mit\u00e4 voisi edesauttaa lis\u00e4\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 arviointiohjeita ja -vaatimuksia lukion opetussuunnitelman perusteisiin. Lukion kurssij\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4 ja sen aiheuttamat tauot aineen oppimisessa saattaa olla haittatekij\u00e4 perusteelliselle \u00e4\u00e4nt\u00e4misen oppimiselle.
