Kirjaamisen merkitykset ja sis\u00e4ll\u00f6t eiv\u00e4t kuitenkaan aina ole neutraaleja tai lapsen kannalta optimaalisia. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, mill\u00e4 osa-alueilla sosioemotionaalisen kehityksen tuen tarpeet ilmenev\u00e4t, millaisia diskursseja n\u00e4ille tuen tarpeille rakentuu ja miten n\u00e4it\u00e4 merkityksenantoja rakennetaan kielellisin keinoin varhaiskasvatuksen ja esiopetuksen asiakirjoissa ammattipositiosta k\u00e4sin.\nTutkimusaineisto koostui ammattilaisten laatimista, 21 lapsen pedagogisista asiakirjoista. Diskurssianalyysi toimi tutkielman analyyttisen\u00e4 viitekehyksen\u00e4. Diskurssianalyysin lis\u00e4ksi tutkielmassa hy\u00f6dynnettiin sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysin keinoja sek\u00e4 lingvistisi\u00e4 menetelmi\u00e4.\nTulosten perusteella sosioemotionaalisen kehityksen tuen tarpeiden voitiin n\u00e4hd\u00e4 ilmenev\u00e4n nelj\u00e4ll\u00e4 osa-alueella, jotka olivat tunteiden s\u00e4\u00e4tely ja ilmaisu, arjessa toimiminen, vertaissuhteet ja leikkitaidot sek\u00e4 lapsen piirteet. Sosioemotionaalisen kehityksen tuen tarpeille rakentui kuusi diskurssia, joita olivat vallank\u00e4yt\u00f6n, kehittyvien taitojen, puuttuvien taitojen, tuen tarpeen, tilannesidonnaisuuden ja vaikeuksien diskurssi. Lapsi asemoitui sek\u00e4 aktiiviseksi ett\u00e4 passiiviseksi diskurssien sis\u00e4ll\u00e4 saaden kapinoivan lapsen, kehityksen subjektin ja objektin, osaamattoman ja ep\u00e4onnistuvan lapsen, avun tarvitsijan, tuen kohteen, olosuhteiden uhrin ja vaikeuksien kanssa kamppailevan lapsen position. Ammattilaisen rooli vaihteli puolestaan v\u00e4ltt\u00e4m\u00e4tt\u00f6m\u00e4st\u00e4 olemattomaan.
