Lis\u00e4ksi tarkasteltiin \u00e4idin koulutustaustan, oppilaan sukupuolen sek\u00e4 kyselyn ja testien j\u00e4rjestyksen vaikutuksia yhteyksiin. T\u00e4m\u00e4n lis\u00e4ksi vertailtiin sukupuolten v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 eroja motorisissa perustaidoissa, fyysisess\u00e4 kunnossa ja koetussa fyysisess\u00e4 toimintakyvyss\u00e4. \nTutkimuksen aineisto on osa LIKES:n Liikkuvaa matikkaa -tutkimushanketta, jossa selvitettiin fyysisesti aktiivisten oppituntien vaikutuksia matematiikan oppimistuloksiin. Tutkimukseen rekrytoitiin kev\u00e4\u00e4n 2019 aikana 349 (177 poikaa ja 172 tytt\u00f6\u00e4) kolmasluokkalaista 13 eri koulusta Keski-Suomen alueelta. Testit suoritettiin syksyn 2019 aikana. Motorisia perustaitoja testattiin seitsem\u00e4ll\u00e4 eri testiosiolla: tasapainoilu takaperin, sivuttaishyppely, sivuttaissiirtyminen, tasapainoilu yhdell\u00e4 jalalla, pallon heitto ja hernepussin heitto. Fyysist\u00e4 kuntoa mitattiin nelj\u00e4ll\u00e4 testiosiolla: etunojapunnerrus, 20 metrin viivajuoksu, istumaannousu ja vauhditon pituushyppy. Koettua fyysist\u00e4 toimintakyky\u00e4 selvitettiin kyselylomakkeen avulla. Aineisto analysoitiin IBM SPSS Statistics 27 \u2013ohjelmalla k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en lineaarista regressioanalyysi\u00e4.\nPojat olivat keskim\u00e4\u00e4rin tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 parempia v\u00e4lineenk\u00e4sittely- ja liikkumistaidoissa sek\u00e4 kaikissa fyysisen kunnon osatekij\u00f6iss\u00e4. Tyt\u00f6t sen sijaan olivat poikia parempia tasapainotaitoa mittaavissa testeiss\u00e4. Koetussa fyysisess\u00e4 toimintakyvyss\u00e4 ei havaittu eroja sukupuolten v\u00e4lill\u00e4. Tutkimus osoitti, ett\u00e4 motoriset perustaidot ja fyysinen kunto olivat yhteydess\u00e4 koettuun fyysiseen toimintakykyyn. N\u00e4ist\u00e4 tekij\u00f6ist\u00e4 fyysinen kunto selitti enemm\u00e4n koettua fyysist\u00e4 toimintakyky\u00e4 (13,5 prosenttia). Motoristen perustaitojen ja fyysisen kunnon ollessa samassa mallissa, motorisilla perustaidoilla ei ollut tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4\u00e4 yhteytt\u00e4 koettuun fyysisen toimintakykyyn. Fyysisen kunnon osatekij\u00f6ist\u00e4 viivajuoksun tulos selitti eniten fyysisen toimintakyvyn vaihtelua. \u00c4idin koulutus sek\u00e4 kyselyn ajankohta nostivat kaikkien mallien selitysasteita. Oppilaan sukupuoli ei ollut tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4 selitt\u00e4j\u00e4 yhdess\u00e4k\u00e4\u00e4n mallissa. Tulokset viittaavat siihen, ett\u00e4 kolmasluokkalaisten koettua fyysist\u00e4 toimintakyky\u00e4 voidaan tukea kehitt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 sek\u00e4 motorisia perustaitoja ett\u00e4 fyysist\u00e4 kuntoa. Motorisissa perustaidoissa havaitut erot tytt\u00f6jen ja poikien v\u00e4lill\u00e4 saattavat osaltaan johtua liikuntaan liittyvien mielenkiinnonkohteiden ja lajivalintojen sukupuolittuneisuudesta.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "The purpose of this thesis was to investigate associations of fundamental movement skills and physical fitness to perceived physical competence. Also, we examined the effects of mother\u2019s education, student\u2019s gender and the time of completing the tests and the questionnaire to these associations. Furthermore, we compared gender differences in fundamental movement skills, physical fitness and perceived physical competence. \nThis thesis is part of LIKES Moving Maths \u2013 research project. The participants were recruited during the spring and the beginning of fall of 2019 involving 349 third graders (177 boys and 172 girls) from 13 schools from the district of Central Finland. The tests in this study were conducted during the fall of 2019. Fundamental movement skills were tested with seven different tests: walking backwards, two-legged jumping from side to side, moving sideways, standing on one leg, bouncing and catching a ball with two hands and throwing a beanbag onto a mat. Physical fitness was tested with four different tests: push-ups, 20\u2013meter shuttle run, sit-ups and standing long-jump. Perceived physical competence was tested with a modified questionnaire (Perceived Physical Competence scale for Children). The data was analysed with IBM SPSS Statistics 27 using linear regression analysis. \nOn average boys had better manipulative and locomotor skills than girls. Boys were also better at every component of physical fitness. Girls had better results on the tests measuring balance. There were no differences between genders in perceived physical fitness. The study showed that both fundamental movement skills and physical fitness was associated to perceived physical competence. Physical fitness was a stronger predictor of perceived physical competence than fundamental movement skills (13,5 percent vs. 7,5 percent, respectively). When both fundamental movement skills and physical fitness were on the same model explaining perceived physical competence, fundamental movement skills were not statistically significant predictor. From components of physical fitness, 20\u2013meter shuttle run explained most of the change in perceived physical competence. Mother\u2019s level of education and time of answering the questionnaire improved the ability of all models to explain perceived physical competence. Gender did not have a statistically significant effect on the results. The results suggest that the perceived physical competence of third graders can be supported by developing one\u2019s fundamental movement skills and physical fitness.
