Tutkimuksen avulla pyrittiin l\u00f6yt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n erilaisia k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n keinoja k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisen hallinnan tukemiseen, mutta my\u00f6s perusteluita, miksi erityisopettajat k\u00e4ytt\u00e4v\u00e4t mainitsemiaan keinoja oppilaan k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisen tukemisessa.\nTutkimus toteutettiin laadullisin menetelmin ja tutkimuksen aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin verkkokyselylomakkeella. Tutkimukseen osallistui 22 alakoulussa ty\u00f6skentelev\u00e4\u00e4 erityisopettajaa, joilla oli kokemusta oppilaista, joilla ilmeni h\u00e4iri\u00f6k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymist\u00e4. Tutkimusaineisto\nanalysoitiin aineistol\u00e4ht\u00f6isell\u00e4 sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysill\u00e4.\nErityisopettajien k\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4t keinot muodostivat kuusi p\u00e4\u00e4luokkaa, jotka olivat\nstruktuuri, oppilaan yksil\u00f6llinen kohtaaminen, oppimisymp\u00e4rist\u00f6n ilmapiiri ja palaute k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisest\u00e4, k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisen ohjaus ja taitojen opettaminen, yhteisty\u00f6 aikuisten kesken sek\u00e4 muut oppilaan h\u00e4iri\u00f6k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymist\u00e4 v\u00e4hent\u00e4v\u00e4t keinot. Lukuunottamatta viimeist\u00e4 p\u00e4\u00e4luokkaa, jokainen p\u00e4\u00e4luokka sis\u00e4lsi v\u00e4hint\u00e4\u00e4n viisi keinoa, joilla erityisopettajat tukivat oppilaan k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisen hallintaa. Opettajien vastauksista l\u00f6ytyi yhteens\u00e4 44 erilaista keinoa.\nErityisopettajien perustelut k\u00e4ytt\u00e4miens\u00e4 keinojen taustalla vaihtelivat k\u00e4ytetyn keinon mukaan.
