Covid-19-pandemian vuoksi Suomen hallitus asetti rajoittavia linjauksia liittyen muun muassa l\u00e4hiopetukseen. N\u00e4in ollen Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopisto siirtyi et\u00e4opetukseen kev\u00e4tlukukaudella 2020, jatkuen edelleen kev\u00e4tlukukaudella 2021.\nTutkimukseen osallistui 15 Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopiston ranskan kielen opiskelijaa. Aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin s\u00e4hk\u00f6isen kyselyn avulla. Kyselyn ensimm\u00e4isell\u00e4 osiolla selvitettiin heid\u00e4n motivaatiotansa ennen et\u00e4opiskelua sek\u00e4 aiempaa kokemusta et\u00e4opiskelusta. Toinen osa k\u00e4sitteli heid\u00e4n motivaatiotaan et\u00e4opiskelun aikana ja otti selv\u00e4\u00e4 motivaatioon vaikuttavista tekij\u00f6ist\u00e4. Aineiston analyysiss\u00e4 hy\u00f6dynnettiin laadullista sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysi\u00e4 etsien tarkemmin yhtenevi\u00e4 vaikuttavia tekij\u00f6it\u00e4 sek\u00e4 tarkasteltiin motivaatiota sosiokonstruktiivisen oppimisk\u00e4sityksen valossa. Lis\u00e4ksi tilastoja tarkasteltiin m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4llisesti. Analyysiss\u00e4 k\u00e4siteltiin tekij\u00f6it\u00e4 erikseen, mutta useat tekij\u00e4t ovat luoneeltaan kytk\u00f6ksiss\u00e4 toisiinsa. \nTutkimuksemme tulokset osoittavat et\u00e4opiskelun vaikuttaneen suurimmaksi osaksi negatiivisesti kyseisten ranskan kielen opiskelijoiden opiskelumotivaatioon. 15:st\u00e4 opiskelijasta 13 koki et\u00e4opiskelun vaikuttavan ylip\u00e4\u00e4t\u00e4\u00e4n, joista 11 koki sen olevan negatiivista ja kaksi positiivista. Yleisin negatiivinen tekij\u00e4 oli et\u00e4opiskelussa vaadittavan itseohjautuvuuden puute, joka taas vaikutti muun muassa arjen rakentumiseen ja rutiineihin. N\u00e4ill\u00e4 rutiinien puutteella oli suuri negatiivinen vaikutus opiskelumotivaatioon.
