Kohderyhm\u00e4n\u00e4 toimivat yl\u00e4koulun liikunnanopettajat, jotka olivat kokeneet oman opettajauransa aikana oppilaiden psyykkist\u00e4 oireilua ja kohdanneet siit\u00e4 johtuvia haastavia tilanteita omassa opetuksessaan. Tutkielman avulla etenkin liikunnanopettajaksi opiskelevat ja vasta valmistuneet liikunnanopettajat voivat saada tietoa psyykkisesti oireilevien oppilaiden kanssa toimimisesta sek\u00e4 ty\u00f6kaluja omaan opettajuuteensa. Aiempia tutkimuksia oppilaiden psyykkisest\u00e4 oireilusta liikunnanopetuksessa ei ole tehty.\n\nTutkielma toteutettiin laadullisin menetelmin ja tutkimusotteena toimi fenomenologis-hermeneuttinen kehys. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkielmassa se tarkoittaa opettajien yksil\u00f6llisten kokemusten selvitt\u00e4mist\u00e4 sek\u00e4 kokemusten tulkintaa. Tutkielman aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin teemahaastattelun avulla. Haastatteluihin osallistui seitsem\u00e4n opettajaa, joista nelj\u00e4 oli naisia ja kolme miehi\u00e4. Aineisto analysoitiin aineistol\u00e4ht\u00f6ist\u00e4 sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysi\u00e4 k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en. Analyysi toteutettiin kahdessa osassa, joista toisessa analysoitiin opettajien kohtaamaa oppilaiden psyykkist\u00e4 oireilua ja toisessa opettajien k\u00e4ytt\u00e4mi\u00e4 ratkaisuja oppilaiden psyykkisen oireilun tilanteissa. Oppilaiden psyykkisest\u00e4 oireilusta nousi selv\u00e4sti esille kaksi p\u00e4\u00e4luokkaa: sis\u00e4\u00e4np\u00e4in suuntautunut oireilu ja ulosp\u00e4in suuntautunut oireilu. Opettajien k\u00e4ytt\u00e4mist\u00e4 ratkaisuista nousi puolestaan kolme p\u00e4\u00e4luokkaa: pedagogiset ratkaisut ja n\u00e4kemykset, liikuntadidaktiset ratkaisut ja turvallisuuden yll\u00e4pit\u00e4minen.\n\nTutkielman opettajista jokainen oli kohdannut oppitunneilla psyykkisesti oireilevia oppilaita. Opettajat olivat kohdanneet enemm\u00e4n sis\u00e4\u00e4np\u00e4in k\u00e4\u00e4ntyv\u00e4\u00e4 oireilua, kuten oppilaan syrj\u00e4\u00e4n vet\u00e4ytymist\u00e4, kuin ulosp\u00e4in suuntautuvaa oireilua. T\u00e4m\u00e4 tulos eroaa muista psyykkist\u00e4 oireilua tutkineista tutkimuksista. Haastavien tilanteiden ratkaisuissa korostuivat ratkaisukeskeinen keskustelu oppilaan kanssa, osallistumaan kannustaminen, oppilaantuntemus, opetuksen eriytt\u00e4minen ja fyysisesti, psyykkisesti ja sosiaalisesti turvallisen oppimisymp\u00e4rist\u00f6n takaaminen. K\u00e4ytettyjen ratkaisujen osalta opettajat korostivat niiden tilannesidonnaisuutta, mik\u00e4 tarkoittaa, ett\u00e4 ne auttoivat tilanteiden ratkaisuissa vaihtelevasti p\u00e4iv\u00e4n, oppilaan ja oppilasryhm\u00e4n mukaan. The target group was secondary school PE teachers who had experienced pupils' emotional and behavioural disorders during their own teaching careers and encountered the resulting challenging situations in their own teaching. With the help of this thesis, PE teacher students and recent graduates can get information about working with mentally symptomatic pupils and tools for their own teaching. Previous studies of pupils' emotional and behavioural disorders in PE have not been conducted.\n\nThe thesis was carried out using qualitative methods and the research approach was a phenomenological-hermeneutic framework. In this thesis, it means finding out the individual experiences of teachers as well as interpreting them. The material for the thesis was collected through a thematic interview. Seven teachers were interviewed, four of whom were women and three men. The material was analyzed using data-driven content analysis. The analysis was carried out in two parts, one analyzing the emotional and behavioural disorder faced by the teachers and the other the solutions used by the teachers in these situations. Two main categories of pupils' emotional and behavioural disorders emerged clearly: internalized and externalized disorders. Three main categories of solutions used by teachers emerged: pedagogical solutions and views, PE\u2019s didactic solutions, and maintaining safety.\n\nEach of the teachers in the thesis had encountered emotionally and behaviourally symptomatic pupils during the lessons. Teachers had encountered more internalized symptoms, such as pupil withdrawal, rather than externalized disorders. This result differs from other studies that have examined emotional and behavioural disorders. Solutions to these challenging situations emphasized solution-focused discussion with the pupil, encouraging participation, pupil knowledge, defederation, and ensuring a physically, mentally, and socially safe learning environment. In terms of the solutions used, teachers emphasized their situational nature, which means that they helped to solve the situations in different ways depending on the day, the pupil and the PE class.
