Tutkimusteht\u00e4v\u00e4n\u00e4 oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, onko johtajien uran pituudella merkityst\u00e4 tulevaisuuden muutostarpeiden havainnoimisessa tai toteuttamisessa. Tutkimuksella pyrit\u00e4\u00e4n lis\u00e4\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n ymm\u00e4rryst\u00e4 johtajien n\u00e4kemyksist\u00e4 siit\u00e4, mit\u00e4 he kokevat nuorten ik\u00e4sukupolvien tuovan mukanaan ty\u00f6el\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n ja kuinka johtajat kokevat n\u00e4iden muutoksien vaikuttavan heid\u00e4n omaan johtamiseensa. Tutkimuksen tutkimuskysymysten keskeisen\u00e4 teoriana on k\u00e4ytetty Kurt Lewin (1947) muutosjohtamisen kolmivaiheista teoriaa, jonka kautta perehdyt\u00e4\u00e4n johtajien n\u00e4kemykseen nykytilasta, muutoksesta ja muutoksen asettumisesta organisaatioon. Tutkielman teoriaosuus on koottu sukupolviajatteluun, ik\u00e4johtamiseen, muutosjohtamiseen, johtajuuden kehittymiseen sek\u00e4 tulevaisuuden johtamistarpeisiin liittyvist\u00e4 aikaisemmista tutkimuksista. Laadullinen tutkimus toteutettiin haastattelemalla kymment\u00e4 johtajaa, joista viisi oli urallaan kokenutta ja viisi aloittelevaa johtajaa. Tutkimuksen tuloksista voidaan p\u00e4\u00e4tell\u00e4, ett\u00e4 molemmilla johtajilla, niin kokeneilla, kuin my\u00f6s aloittelevilla johtajilla, oli tutkimuksen valossa hyv\u00e4t edellytykset havainnoida muutoksia. Kuitenkin johtajien vastaukset painottuivat v\u00e4lill\u00e4 kokeneiden johtajien, v\u00e4lill\u00e4 aloittelevien johtajien eduksi. Tutkielman tulosten perusteella voidaan todeta, ett\u00e4 johtajien uran pituudella voidaan n\u00e4hd\u00e4 olevan vaikutusta tietyill\u00e4 osa-alueilla, kuten nuorten ik\u00e4sukupolvien toiveiden havainnoimisessa, organisaatiossa jo tapahtuneiden muutoksien hahmottamisessa, johtajien luottamuksessa omaan johtamiseen sek\u00e4 johtajan mahdollisuuksiin vaikuttaa organisaation johtamiskulttuuriin.
