Tutkimuksessa kartoitettiin sek\u00e4 tilanteita, joissa kiusaamista tapahtuu sek\u00e4 sit\u00e4, mill\u00e4 tavalla kiusatut kokevat muiden opiskelijoiden ja opettajien reagoineen kiusaamiseen.\nTutkimus oli laadullinen ja tutkimusaineisto hankittiin kev\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4 ja kes\u00e4ll\u00e4 2020. Aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin lukion ensimm\u00e4isen vuoden opiskelijoilta Webropol 3.0 -ohjelman avulla k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en puolistrukturoitua kirjallista haastattelua. Haastattelussa kysymykset olivat avoimia ja ne perustuivat kolmeen asettamaamme tutkimuskysymykseen. Tutkimukseen osallistui 11 Keski-Suomen alueen opiskelijaa. Aineisto analysoitiin k\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 teoriaohjaavaa sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysi\u00e4.\nTutkimustuloksista ilmeni, ett\u00e4 kiusaamista tapahtui kilpailullisissa tilanteissa, palloilu- ja joukkuepeleiss\u00e4, kehoon ja sen ominaisuuksiin huomiota kiinnitt\u00e4viss\u00e4 lajeissa sek\u00e4 pukuhuoneissa. Kiusaamisen muotoja olivat suora- ja ep\u00e4suora verbaalinen kiusaaminen, nonverbaalinen kiusaaminen ja fyysinen kiusaaminen, joista suoraa verbaalista kiusaamista oli kokenut l\u00e4hes jokainen tutkimukseen vastannut opiskelija. Syyt kiusaamiseen jakautuivat sek\u00e4 kiusaajaan ett\u00e4 kiusattuun liittyviin tekij\u00f6ihin. Osa vastanneista n\u00e4ki my\u00f6s opettajan kiusaajana. L\u00e4hes kaikki vastanneista olivat raportoineet kiusaamisen vaikuttaneen heid\u00e4n min\u00e4k\u00e4sitykseens\u00e4. Itsetunto oli heikentynyt noin 80 prosentilla vastaajista, ja se n\u00e4kyi muun muassa omien ominaisuuksien, kuten vartalon, h\u00e4pe\u00e4misen\u00e4. Kiusaaminen vaikutti my\u00f6s vastaajien kehonkuvaan, mik\u00e4 n\u00e4kyi kielteisin\u00e4 ajatuksina omasta kehosta. Vastauksissa tuli esille my\u00f6s kiusaamisen yhteydet mielenterveyden h\u00e4iri\u00f6ihin. Noin puolet vastaajista kokivat ahdistusta ja pahaa mielt\u00e4. Lis\u00e4ksi esille tuli erilaisia mielenterveysongelmia.\nOpettajien tulisi tarkkailla kiusaamista tarkemmin ja pyrki\u00e4 kitkem\u00e4\u00e4n sit\u00e4 aktiivisemmin pois. Pelkk\u00e4 kiusaamisen havainnointi liikuntatuntien aikana ei selke\u00e4sti ole riitt\u00e4v\u00e4\u00e4 kiusaamisen ehk\u00e4isemiseksi, mink\u00e4 takia opettajat tarvitsevat monipuolisempia ty\u00f6kaluja kiusaamista vastaan. Opettajien on t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4 tiedostaa my\u00f6s kiusaamisen yhteys kiusatun min\u00e4k\u00e4sitykseen ja ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4\u00e4 kiusaamisen seurausten vakavuus.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "The aim of this study was to find out high school students\u2019 experiences about bullying during physical education classes and how bullying is connected to student\u2019s self-concept. We studied in which situations bullying occurs in physical education classes and how students experience the other students\u2019 and teachers\u2019 reactions to bullying.\nThe study was qualitative and research material was gathered in spring and summer of 2020. Research material was gathered from high school first graders through Webropol 3.0 -program using a half structured written interview. Questions were open and they were based on our three research questions. 11 students took part in this study from the Central-Finland area. Material was analyzed using theory-driven analysis.\nThe findings of this study indicate that most of the bullying occurs in competitive situations, ball- and team games, swimming, dancing, gymnastics and in locker rooms. Forms of bullying that participants experienced were straight- and indirect verbal bullying, nonverbal bullying and physical bullying. The most common form of bullying was straight verbal bullying which was experienced by almost every participant. Reasons to bully were divided into factors related to the bully and the victim. Some of the participants also saw the teacher as a bully. Almost every participant reported that bullying has affected their self-concept. Self-esteem was weakened in 80 % of the participants and for example it was shown as shaming their own actions. Bullying also affected participants\u2019 body-images, which was shown for example as negative thoughts about their own body. Answers also indicated that bullying is connected to mental health issues. Half of the participants reported anxiety and bad mood. In addition, some mental disorders were mentioned.\nTeachers should be able to monitor bullying more efficiently and strive to prevent bullying with more effort. Only observing bullying during classes isn\u2019t simply enough to prevent bullying, which is why teachers need more tools against bullying.
