Tutkimuksista saadut tulokset osoittavat, että vaikka pelillistämisellä ajatellaan olevan potentiaalia, on paljolti kiinni pelillistämisen toteutuksesta saadaanko pelillistämisen avulla aikaan positiivisia vaikutuksia opiskelijoiden motivaatioon, sitoutumiseen ja oppimiseen. Gamification has been thought to have potential to increase user motivation and engagement. For this reason, it has been desired to be used in education. This study aims to clarify how gamification has been applied in education and what effects has it had on student motivation, engagement and learning. The results show that although gamification is thought to have potential, much depends on the implementation of gamification, whether it has a positive effect on students' motivation, engagement and learning.
