Aiempien tutkimusten perusteella varautuneisuuden oletetaan olevan yhteydess\u00e4 kehittyv\u00e4\u00e4n sosiaaliseen kompetenssiin ja yst\u00e4vyyssuhteiden muodostumiseen. Tutkimusaineisto muodostui Lapsen Kielen Kehitys (LKK) -projekti, pitkitt\u00e4istutkimusta varten vuosina 1994\u20131998 ker\u00e4tyst\u00e4 aineistosta, joka koostui vuosina 1993\u20131996 syntyneist\u00e4 lapsista (N=200). Lasten temperamentin varautuneisuutta arvioitiin vierastilanne-tutkimusmenetelm\u00e4ll\u00e4. Lasten sosiaalista kompetenssia sek\u00e4 yst\u00e4vyyssuhteita puolestaan tutkittiin vanhempien sek\u00e4 esikouluopettajien t\u00e4ytt\u00e4mien kyselylomakkeiden avulla. Tutkimuksessa havaittiin tytt\u00f6jen 14 kuukauden ik\u00e4isen\u00e4 arvioidun varautuneisuuden olevan yhteydess\u00e4 vanhempien arvioimaan esikouluik\u00e4isen sosiaaliseen kompetenssiin siten, ett\u00e4 varautuneiden lasten sosiaalinen kompetenssi arvioitiin rohkeampia lapsia heikommaksi. Varautuneisuus ei kuitenkaan ollut yhteydess\u00e4 esikouluopettajan arvioimaan sosiaaliseen kompetenssiin eik\u00e4 yst\u00e4vyyssuhteisiin. Tutkimuksen perusteella voidaan p\u00e4\u00e4tell\u00e4, ett\u00e4 varhainen temperamentin varautuneisuus ei ole johdonmukaisesti yhteydess\u00e4 my\u00f6hemp\u00e4\u00e4n sosiaaliseen kompetenssiin eik\u00e4 yst\u00e4vyyssuhteiden muodostumiseen. Based on previous studies, temperamental inhibition is presumed to be connected to developing social competence and friendship relations. The research data consisted of the data gathered for The Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 Longitudinal Study of Dyslexia (JLD) between 1994 and 1998. The participants were children born between 1993 and 1996 (N=200). The children\u2019s temperamental inhibition was evaluated with the Strange situation method. The children\u2019s social competence and friendship relations were evaluated with questionnaires filled by the parents and the preschool teachers. The study showed a connection between girls\u2019 early inhibition and later social competence when evaluated by the parents. The inhibited girls\u2019 social competence was evaluated weaker when compared to brave girls. However, the inhibition was not connected to social competence when evaluated by the preschool teachers nor was it connected to friendship relations. Based on the results of this study, it can be proposed that early inhibition is not consistently connected to later social competence or friendship relations.
