T\u00e4m\u00e4 toteutettiin simuloimalla mets\u00e4aineistoa 100 vuoden aikajaksolla SIMO-mets\u00e4simulaattorilla yhdist\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 erilaisia mets\u00e4nhoitotapoja ja kolme ilmastoskenaariota. Hoitotavat sis\u00e4lsiv\u00e4t jatkuvan kasvatuksen, ei k\u00e4sittely\u00e4 (set aside), sek\u00e4 eri versioita nykyisin suositellusta menetelm\u00e4st\u00e4 (business-as-usual). Tulokset paljastivat, ett\u00e4 mets\u00e4nhoidolla on enemm\u00e4n merkityst\u00e4 habitaatin sopivuuteen kuin ilmastonmuutoksella. Many of them are currently endangered due to intensive management actions in forest ecosystems. Additionally, one of the biggest future threats for boreal ecosystems is climate change as temperature rise is predicted to be higher in the boreal zone than on average. This Master\u2019s thesis aimed to understand both the individual and combined effects of climate change and forest management on the habitat suitability of red-listed and deadwood dependent species. This was done by simulating a forest dataset with 100 years\u2019 time span by using SIMO forest growth simulator under combination of various forest management regimes and three climate scenarios. Management regimes included continuous cover forestry, set aside (no management), and different versions from the currently recommended business-as-usual method. Results revealed that forest management has the major impact on habitat suitability rather than climate change. Habitat suitability was improved more in the northern than southern forest stands by climate change, which proves the stronger warming effect in the north. More species had improvement than deterioration on their habitat suitability by climate change. It was showed that many of these species would benefit from more diverse range of management types under climate change, than managing the forest only with the currently recommended regime.
