Tässä tutkimuksessa selvitettiin Vadaid Ravdojärvestä pyydetyn ja Stuorra Ravdojärveen istutetun rautukannan tilaa ja kalastojen runsaussuhteita verkkokoekalastuksilla. Stuorra Ravdojärven veden lämpötilaa seurattiin neljän vuoden ajan. Istutuskalojen kasvua, ikää ja sukukypsyyden saavuttamista verrattiin pyyntijärven rautujen kasvuun. Ravinnon käyttöä selvitettiin mahanäytteiden ja hiilen ja typen pysyvien isotooppien avulla. Stuorra Ravdojärvessä veden lämpötila kohosi raudulle kriittisenä pidetyn 22 °C yli 8 päivänä vuonna 2018. Mädille ja vastakuoriutuneille letaali lämpötilaraja 8 °C saavutettiin keskimäärin 12 vuorokauden kuluttua jäiden lähtemisestä. Istutusjärvessä rautu saavutti suuremman koon verrattuna pyyntijärven rautuihin. Stuorra Ravdojärven alkuperäiseen kalastoon kuuluvat taimen (Salmo trutta) ja made (Lota lota) siirtyivät käyttämään kalaravintoa 20‒30 cm:n pituisena. Sen sijaan rautu käytti ravintonaan pohjaeläimiä ja eläinplanktonia. Raudun nuorten ikäryhmien puuttuminen istutusjärvessä viittaa siihen, että lisääntyminen ei todennäköisesti onnistu. Todennäköinen syy on taimenen ja mateen rautuun kohdistama predaatio. Toinen mahdollinen syy raudun lisääntymisen epäonnistumiseen voi olla liian korkea veden lämpötila. The depleted populations of Arctic charr in the highland waters of Northern Lapland have been resuscitated since the late 1980s by catching wild Arctic charr and stocking them into the lakes that no longer have such fish. This study analysed the status of the Arctic charr population that was caught from Lake Vadaid Ravdojärvi and stocked into Lake Stuorra Ravdojärvi. The fish populations of these two lakes and their abundance ratios were analysed through exploratory fishing with gillnets. The water temperature of Stuorra Ravdojärvi was observed for a period of four years. The growth, the age and the sexual maturation of the stocked fish were compared to the growth of the Arctic charr in the catch lake Vadaid Ravdojärvi. The diets of the fish were studied using stomach samples and stable isotopes of carbon and nitrogen. In Stuorra Ravdojärvi, the water temperature exceeded the 22°C that is considered critical for Arctic charr on 8 days in 2018. The temperature limit 8°C that is lethal for the spawn and the fry was reached on an average 12 days after the breakup of ice. The charr attained a bigger size in the receiving lake than in the catch lake. The brown trout (Salmo trutta) and the burbot (Lota lota) that were the other original fish populations of Stuorra Ravdojärvi shifted to feeding on fish of the size 20–30 cm, while the Arctic charr relied on zoobenthos and zooplankton. The lack of young age groups of Arctic charr in the receiving lake suggests that reproduction may not be succeeding. Predation by brown trout and burbot is the probable reason for this. Another possible reason for the reproductive failure may be too high a water temperature.
